A portable band saw includes a serviceable/replaceable bumper system for allowing the band saw to be easily repaired if damaged from being dropped. An auxiliary handle is adjustably mounted to the band saw and is releasable from its position if subjected to a large force so as to avoid damage to the handle and tool housing. An adjustable guide shoe includes a toolless adjustment. The front and rear section of the band saw are disposed on opposite sides of a polymeric field case. Compression rods are used to isolate compression forces from the polymeric field case. An electric box assembly including a plastic component box is disposed between the field case and a front section of the band saw. A crash guard is mounted adjacent to the field case and includes a sight guide along an edge thereof and a rear blade guard formed integrally therewith.

Portable band saw

A vacuum electronic power tool sense system senses the operation of a power tool that is plugged into an onboard power outlet and the vacuum source is automatically operated to facilitate user clean-up of debris generated by use of the power tool. A delay period can be utilized to maintain the vacuum source is an on state for a predetermined period of time after the power tool is turned off.

Vacuum electronic power tool sense

A power tool has a motor having a stator made by separately forming pole pieces and field coils. The field coils are placed over necks of the pole path pieces. An armature has an outside diameter of at least 0.625 the outside diameter of the stator is placed in the stator. The housing has a girth of 200 mm or less with the motor wound to provide a maximum watts out to housing girth ratio of at least 5 maximum watts outs to 1 mm of housing girth. The field coils may be formed so that they extend beyond pole tips of the pole pieces.

Power tool with motor having a multi-piece stator

A vacuum including a housing with a suction device disposed within the housing is provided. The vacuum can also include a frame having a plurality of wheels mounted thereto. The frame can include an aperture, which can be adapted to removably receive the housing therein. The frame can have a handle attached thereto.

Vacuum having accessory storage features

A vacuum including a housing, a suction device disposed within the housing, a plurality of accessories operable to engage the suction device, a plurality of wheels mounted to the housing and at least one bumper disposed on the housing. The at least one bumper includes a retaining feature operable to store at least one of the accessories, and the at least one bumper is operable to protect at least one of the wheels to minimize damage thereto. At least one pocket is defined by the bumper. The pocket is adapted to store at least one of the accessories.

A power tool has a motor having a stator made by separately forming pole pieces, return path pieces and field coils. The field coils are placed over necks of the pole path pieces and the return path pieces are affixed to the pole pieces. An armature having an outside diameter of at least 0.625 the outside diameter of the stator is placed in the stator. The field coils may be formed so that they extend beyond pole tips of the pole pieces.

Power tools with motor having a multi-piece stator

A vacuum is provided with a removable filter tray that allows a user to access the filter without having to disassemble the vacuum. The filter can then be changed or cleaned and easily replaced without disassembly of the vacuum.

Vacuum with panel filter

A vacuum including a housing and a suction device disposed within the housing is provided with hose and power cord storage features. A pivotal inlet coupling facilitates storage of the hose. A separately formed inlet body facilitates easier formation of the inlet. A cord wrap feature allows easier storage and removal of the power cord.
