A reciprocating coffee filter and method is shown. One embodiment provides a coffee maker including a housing to receive a filter basket, a coffee filter basket to receive a coffee filter, and a reciprocation assembly connected to the housing and the coffee filter basket, the reciprocation assembly to oscillate a filter basket during a brewing process. Another embodiment provides a method for filling a coffee filter within a filter basket with coffee grounds, pouring hot water on the coffee grounds to brew the coffee, and oscillating the filter basket to increase coffee ground and hot water interaction while brewing.

An assisted opening multitool handle comprising a handle housing having a longitudinal axis and a lateral axis, the handle housing having first and second longitudinal regions, the handle housing having an interior surface defining a channel region. The assisted opening multitool handle further comprises a tool member pivotally attached to the handle housing and operatively configured to be positioned in a closed orientation within the channel region and configured to rotate in an opening direction to an open orientation.

A collapsible fingerguard tool is disclosed. In some embodiments, a tool with a handle includes an open channel within the handle to receive a second tool with a collapsible fingerguard, a flared section at an entry of the channel, and a second tool having a collapsible fingerguard, wherein the collapsible fingerguard is pivotably attached to the second tool at a pivot pin, the collapsible fingerguard also having a spring to open the fingerguard, wherein the fingerguard collapses adjacent to a handle of the second tool when the second tool is inserted into the open channel in the handle.

In general, it can be appreciated that the specific type of knife is an 'Out the Front' (OTF) knife whereby the blade is operatively configured to reposition longitudinally forwardly with respect to the handle. The handle in general has an interior surface forming an interior chamber. In addition to the handle and blade, the knife further includes a stored energy mechanism. In general, the stored energy mechanism permits the OTF knife to operate with assisted opening technology with a linear-actuating-type system. Described herein are a few embodiments by way of example of the broadly claimed concept, and it can be appreciated that numerous types of assisted opening technologies, such as a stored energy mechanism, can be incorporated.

A locking system for a multitool where multiple discrete lock members are attached to a handle and the lock members can be individually engaged to lock and unlock tool members from a retained to an extended position and vice versa within the handle of a multitool.

A hand tool having first and second plier units attached to one another where a jaw region is operatively configured to have a work piece to be placed therein and a handle region is configured to be used by the user of the tool to grasp the work piece. A tension member is provided to be positioned past a dead point axis so as to apply a clamping force upon the jaw member and the hand tool maintains a grip upon the work piece without continuous interaction with the user of the tool.

The tool member has first and second members which in one form are pivotally attached at a common axis on the handle portion of a multitool where the tool member has an extended orientation and can be retracted into the channel region of the tool member.

The finger guard is adapted to be withdrawn from the handle in an extended position when the blade is in an open position where in one form the finger guard is adapted to open the blade when a force is applied thereto.
