The heat transfer device includes a sealed bag, a working fluid, and a contact component. The working fluid is enclosed in the bag. The contact component includes a first contact portion and a second contact portion that are separated from each other via a spacer. A left edge portion of the bag is disposed between the first contact portion and the second contact portion. The left edge portion contacts the first contact portion and the second contact portion when the bag expands due to vaporization of the working fluid.

An electrode for redox flow battery is disposed opposite a membrane of a redox flow battery. The electrode includes a fiber assembly including a plurality of carbon fibers. Each of the flow channels includes an inflow channel through which the electrolyte flows into the electrode and an outflow channel through which the electrolyte flows out of the electrode, the inflow channel and the outflow channel are not in communication with each other and are independent from each other, and the grooves each have a wide portion inside the groove, the wide portion having a width larger than a width of an opening of the groove.

Bipolar plate, redox flow battery, and method for producing bipolar plate

A redox flow battery having reduced internal resistance is provided. The redox flow battery includes a membrane, a bipolar plate, an electrode disposed between the membrane and the bipolar plate, an inlet port for supplying an electrolyte to the electrode, and an outlet port for discharging the electrolyte from the electrode, and performs a charge-discharge reaction by allowing the electrolyte to flow in the electrode. The electrode includes an anisotropic electrode layer having different permeabilities between a direction A1 on a plane of the electrode and a direction A2 orthogonal to the direction A1 on the plane of the electrode. In the anisotropic electrode layer, a permeability K1 in the direction A1 is larger than a permeability K2 in the direction A2. The electrode is disposed such that the direction A1 is substantially parallel to a main flow direction of the electrolyte in the electrode, the main flow direction being determined on the basis of a positional relationship between the inlet port and the outlet port and a shape of a surface of the bipolar plate on the electrode side.
