An actuator includes a ball screw, a rod provided at least partially within the ball screw, a ball nut, a ball nut restraint, a first biasing member disposed at least partially between a proximate end of the rod and a proximate end of the ball screw, and a second biasing member disposed at least partially between a distal end of the ball nut and an inner surface of the ball nut restraint.

Actuator with backup component failure detection

An actuator includes a drive assembly, a ball screw, and a ball nut. The ball nut may include a first nut member, a second nut member; and first arm extending from the first nut member. The first arm may include a first portion and a second portion. The first portion may extend radially outward from the first nut member. The second portion may extend substantially axially from the first portion such that at least some of the second portion is disposed radially outward of the second nut member. A second arm may extend from the second nut member, and the second arm may include a first portion and a second portion. In embodiments, at least part of the second portion of the first arm is disposed radially outward of at least a part of the second portion of the second arm.

Actuator with ball nut

A flame arrestor including a flame arrestor collar and a flame arrestor plug. The flame arrestor collar includes a flame path that may be defined by one or more modules. The flame arrestor plug may be configured for connection to the flame arrestor collar. Various embodiments of a flame arrestor, including those having venting and/or draining elements or capabilities are also disclosed.

A self-locking nut and screw assembly may include a screw and a first nut rotatable and linearly translatable with respect to each other. The assembly may also include a first motor configured to provide torque to one of the screw and the first nut. The assembly may further include a locking mechanism configured to lock the screw to prevent backdrive when the motor is not providing torque to the one of the screw and the first nut.

Self-locking nut and screw assembly

A device and system for monitoring a load or applied force includes a body having first and second ends, a plate, a force-providing member connected to the plate, a first biasing member, and a first sensor. In embodiments the first biasing member is disposed between a portion of the body at or about the first end and a portion of the plate, and is configured to substantially retain the plate in an initial position during normal operation of the device; the first sensor is configured to sense a displacement (e.g., displacement position) with respect to the plate; and the body includes a portion configured to connect to or apply a force to another component. A controller may selectively instruct and/or operate a component, such as a motor, in response to an output generated or provided by the sensor. If an excessive force is sensed, the device may mitigate resulting damage.

Mechanical load limiting and electrical load sensing device and system

A bearing including a base, a plurality of slots, and a plurality of rollers disposed in the plurality of slots. At least one of the plurality of slots may be configured to retain a first roller and a second roller of the plurality of rollers at different skewing angles. Methods for manufacturing bearings are also described. In an embodiment, a method of manufacturing a bearing includes providing a first plurality of base layers. The first plurality of base layers may include portions of a plurality of slots and portions of a plurality of cooling channels. The method may include inserting a roller in at least one of the portions of the plurality of slots and providing a second plurality of base layers.
