Time zones are handled in a telecommunication system with personal mobility and time dependent routing, particularly in a telecommunication system such as UPT (Universal Personal Telecommunication) system. The system is arranged to calculate the time difference between a time zone which is obtained from a subscriber, particularly a time zone where a subscriber permanently or temporarily is located, and a time where the routing takes place, particularly where a node is located, and to calculate the subscriber's current time by adding the time difference to the current time where the routing takes place. The time-dependent routing may include at least one time table for at least one subscriber. The time table includes at least two time periods for each time period. At least one terminal of function is defined to which the subscriber incoming traffic is intended to be routed. Corrections for daylight saving rules may be included. Menues for handling failed call setups and menues for callback are provided.

An arrangement relating to telecommunication access and control. An arrangement is provided at least for providing access information for protected subscriptions to at least one telecommunications system which requires the giving of access code information. The arrangement comprises a portable telecommunications unit which includes processing devices, storing devices and loudspeaker devices. The existing processing devices, storing and loudspeaker devices of the portable telecommunications unit are used for transmitting at least DTMF-coded access code information to a communications arrangement to provide access to a number of telecommunications systems.

The present invention relates to a method of setting up a connection between a first terminal (A), which may be a calling telephone, telefax machine, computer or other equipment that can make a call, and a second terminal (Ct, Cf) which may be a called telephone (Ct) on the one hand or, on the other hand, a called telefax machine (Cf), a computer (Cf) or other equipment (Cf) that can receive a call. According to the invention, the first terminal (A) calls a subscriber number, a fictitious response is sent to the first terminal (A) and monitoring of the first terminal (A) is commenced so as to identify the type of terminal concerned with the aid of possible signals and/or a possible message, while a called telephone (Ct) is ordered to commence ringing. When signals or a message are/is detected, the called telephone (Ct) is ordered to stop ringing and the possible message is received and sent to a second terminal (Cf), or else the called telephone (Ct) is connected to the first terminal (A).
