The present invention relates to isolated polypeptides having endoglucanase activity and isolated polynucleotides encoding the polypeptides. The invention also relates to nucleic acid constructs, vectors, and host cells comprising the polynucleotides as well as methods for producing and using the polypeptides.

DSM 16424,DSM 44657 andDSM 44048, as well as homologous proteases; their recombinant production in various hosts, including transgenic plants and non-human animals, and their use in animal feed and detergents. The proteases are acid-stable, alkali-stable, and/or thermostable.

The proteases are acid-stable, alkali-stable, and/or thermostable.

The invention relates to a novel 3D structure encoding aprotease, as well as to variants of parent protease homologous toproteases, preferably of improved thermostability and/or with an amended temperature activity profile. The invention also relates to DNA sequences encoding such variants, their production in a recombinant host cell, as well as methods of using the variants, in particular within the field of animal feed and detergents. The invention furthermore relates to methods of generating and preparing protease variants of amended properties.

Protease variants

The present invention relates to enzyme preparations consisting essentially of an enzyme which has cellulytic activity, which perform very well in industrial applications such as laundry compositions, for biopolishing of newly manufactured textiles, for providing an abraded look of cellulosic fabric or garment, and for treatment of paper pulp. Further, the invention relates to DNA constructs encoding such enzymes, a method for providing a gene encoding for such enzymes, a method of producing the enzymes, enzyme preparations containing such enzymes, and the use of these enzymes for a number of industrial applications.

The present invention relates to enzyme preparations consisting essentially of an enzyme which has cellulytic activity and comprises a first amino acid sequence having the following sequence and a second amino acid sequence having the following sequence wherein, at position 3 of the first sequence, the amino acid is Trp, Tyr or Phe; at position 4 of the first sequence, the amino acid is Trp, Tyr or Phe; at position 8 of the first sequence, the amino acid is Arg, Lys or His; at positions 9, 10, 12 and 14, respectively, of the first sequence, and at position 4 of the second sequence, the amino acid is any of the 20 naturally occurring amino acid residues with the provisos that, in the first amino acid sequence, (i) when the amino residue at position 12 is Ser, then the amino acid residue at position 14 is not Ser, and (ii) when the amino residue at position 12 is Gly, then the amino acid residue at position 14 is not Ala, performs very well in industrial applications such as laundry compositions, for biopolishing of newly manufactured textiles, for providing an abraded look of cellulosic fabric or garment, and for treatment of paper pulp. Endoglucanases

A secreted mature polypeptide derived from an S2A or S1E protease is described which after maturation has protease activity, which polypeptide when expressed and before maturation comprises a heterologous pro-region. Further, a method for producing polypeptide is described including the step of cultivating a recombinant host cell including a polynucleotide encoding a secreted mature polypeptide which after maturation has protease activity, which polypeptide when expressed and before maturation includes a heterologous pro-region derived from an S2A or S1E protease to produce a supermatant including the polypeptide. The polypeptide may also be recovered.

Proteases and methods for producing them

Disclosed are isolated polypeptides ofsp. having acid endoglucanase or acid cellulase activity.

The present invention relates to isolated proteases of the RP-II type and variants of RP-II proteases exhibiting improved properties in comparison to the parent RP-II protease, DNA constructs and vectors coding for the expression of said proteases and variants, host cells capable of expressing the proteases and variants from the DNA constructs, as well as a method of producing them by cultivating said host cells. The proteases may advantageously be used as constituents in detergent compositions and additives, optionally in combination with other enzymes such as proteases, lipases, cellulases, amylases, peroxidases or oxidases.
