The invention relates to methods for obtaining a scented extract from fresh flowers, flowering heads and/or leaves of a moist plant. The method includes picking the flowers, flowering tops and/or leaves of the plant and infusing them in at least one bath comprising an alcoholic solvent, at a temperature below 50&#xb0; C., to obtain an alcoholic mixture. The alcoholic mixture is then filtered to recover an alcoholic floral infusion. The method also includes performing a supercritical COextraction of the alcoholic floral infusion to obtain a scented extract. This scented extract has an alcohol titrate of at least 75%. The invention also relates to scented water or perfume, food flavoring, and cosmetic compositions that contain the scented extract as an ingredient.

Process for obtaining a scented extract of fresh flowers and/or leaves using natural solvents

The invention relates to an extract ofScheff. The invention is characterized in that the extract is obtained from the airborne portions of the plant by means of at least one extraction step using an organic or hydro-alcoholic solvent, and in that it comprises evodone at a concentration of between 0.1 and 35% by weight of the total weight of the extract, and in that it has an insect repellent activity. The invention also relates to a repellent composition, characterized in that it comprises, in a cosmetically acceptable medium, evodone at a concentration of between 0.1 and 25% by weight of the total weight of the composition, and to the use of evodone as an active agent for repelling insects, in particular mosquitoes and more particularly the European/Mediterranean mosquitoes of thespecies.

The invention relates to a method for producing lactones from a strain ofthat are produced from a pre-culture of thestrain CBS 771.97, obtained from CBS-KNAW Fungal Biodiversity Center, Uppsalalaan 8, 3584 CT Utrecht, Netherlands, or related strains; from an inoculum obtained from the pre-culture; a culture is produced by fermentation at a temperature between 20&#xb0; C. and 40&#xb0; C. over a period of at least 3 days so as to produce metabolites, in a sterilized aqueous production medium containing: a carbon source; a nitrogen source; a mineral salt solution; and a calcium source, at a concentration between 2 and 100 mM; and following the fermentation period, converting the metabolites produced into a lactone mixture comprising (R)-5,6-dihydro-6-pentyl-2H-pyran-2-one (or (R)-(&#x2212;)-lactone) and/or (4R,6R)-4-hydroxy-6-pentyl-tetrahydro-2H-pyran-2-one.

A method for synthesizing dimethyl carbonate from methanol and urea, in which a saline ureic medium is used that includes at least one inorganic salt selected from the group made up of zinc (Zn) (II) chloride, tin (Sn) chlorides and iron (Fe) (III) chloride, characterized in that: methanol, in the presence of a catalytic composition, is placed in contact with the saline ureic medium that is at least partially liquid at a temperature referred to as synthesis temperature, which is higher than 140&#xb0; C., such that reaction vapors are produced; the reaction vapors are condensed, and a condensate of the reaction vapors is collected, including dimethyl carbonate; the method is carried out at atmospheric pressure. Method for synthesising dimethyl carbonate

Methods for extracting an extract of volatile odorous compounds from an organic raw material containing odorous compounds is disclosed. The method includes contacting an organic raw material with dimethyl carbonate, as a solvent, in at least one bath at a temperature of 10&#xb0; C. to 70&#xb0; C. A liquid organic phase is obtained that includes the dimethyl carbonate charged with volatile odorous compounds and is collected. If the liquid organic phase comprises an immiscible aqueous phase, decanting occurs to separate the dimethyl carbonate charged with odorous compounds therefrom thereby eliminating the aqueous phase. Next, partially eliminating by evaporation forms a pre-concentrated extract of volatile odorous compounds, which is recovered and if water is present, decanting occurs to eliminate the water. Additionally, concentrating the pre-concentrated extract of volatile odorous compounds by evaporation is performed to obtain the extract of volatile odorous compounds.
