Various embodiments of the present disclosure encompass an ECG control network of ECG test controller () and ECG context controller (). The ECG test controller () control a recording of an ECG test. The ECG context controller () control a synchronization of the recording of the ECG test by the ECG test controller () with a recording of a video clip illustrative of a clinical context of the ECG test and/or a recording of an audio clip informative of a clinical context of the ECG test. The ECG context controller () further control a simultaneous presentation of a display of the recording of the ECG test with of a playing of the video clip contextually interpretative of the ECG test and/or a playing of the audio clip contextually interpretative of the ECG test.

Clinical contextual electrocardiogram monitoring

When detecting ischemia and/or myocardial infarction in a subject, electrocardiogram (ECG) segments are analyzed for elevated ST segments indicative of ischemia and/or infarction. To mitigate false positive alerts, an ECG segment comprising an elevated ST segment that triggers an alert is presented to a clinician for verification as being indicative of ischemia or infarction, or as being attributable to a confounding condition not indicative of ischemia or infarction. Clinician feedback is used to adjust an elevated ST segment detection algorithm to improve accuracy and mitigate false positive alerts.

Automated analysis and interpretation of spirograms is provided to assess lung function of a subject. If the shape of a spirogram plot is deemed suitably reliable, the spirogram may be subsequently used for diagnostic purposes. Immediately after airway placement and/or following any patient transfer, an automated program may be activated in a CO2 monitoring device to provide an airway device placement check. The automated program needs time to determine if the airway placement has been successful or not. During analysis of CO2 respiration data by the program, real-time feedback is displayed to the user as soon as the airway check program is activated until the time that a final decision on the success of airway placement is made. The real-time feedback displays one or more indicators of the progress of the program toward a determination of a successful or failed placement.

A diagnostic ECG system analyzes lead traces for evidence of ST elevation in the lead signals. The pattern of ST elevation in leads having predetermined vantage points to the electrical activity of the heart and, in some instances, the presence of ST depression in certain other leads, identifies a specific coronary artery or branch as the culprit coronary artery for an acute ischemic event. ECG measurements which are associated with the identity of specific arterial occlusion locations are calculated and used to form a classifier of the probability of occlusion at different locations. The location identified as having the highest probability is indicated to a user as the most likely occlusion location.

A defibrillator and method that uses ECG signals from limb lead electrodes for display and monitoring, even when a separate set of therapy pads are present at the patient. The limb lead ECG signal is used for display and to determine whether electrotherapy is necessary. The determination is a prerequisite to arming and delivery of the electrotherapy.

An ECG monitoring system continuously monitors a patient's ECG waveform and periodically identifies the patient's QT interval. QT interval values are averaged over time and a corrected interval value QTc and a change in QTc relative to a baseline, dQTc, are periodically produced. An alarm is responsive to updated QT interval values and issues an alarm whenever a selected QT value exceeds an alarm limit. The periodically produced QT interval values are stored and a trend display may be produced showing changes in the QT interval information over different periods of time. The trend display may selectively display the trend information either graphically or in tabular form.

An ECG monitoring system analyzes ECG signals of leads associated with different anatomical locations of the body for evidence of ST elevation in the lead signals. The ST elevation and depression measurements of the leads are plotted in a graphical display organized in relation to the anatomical points which are the sources of the lead signals. The locations of the plotted measurements in the anatomically-oriented display indicate the identity of a specific coronary artery or branch as a possible culprit coronary artery for an acute ischemic event, as well as the possible severity of the event from the magnitudes of the plotted signals. A clinician can identify a suspect culprit coronary artery from a quick glance at the graphical display.

System, method and apparatus for analyzing cardiac rhythm during CPR

A CO2 monitoring system () is described which is operable to monitor the CO2 content of respiratory gases during intubation, CPR, or ventilation treatment of a patient. The patient's respiratory gases are sensed for CO2 content () and characteristics of a CO2 waveform are detected (), such as waveform baseline, waveform amplitude, waveform frequency, waveform slope, waveform rhythm, and waveform corners. One or more of the waveform characteristics are analyzed in consideration of the type of respiration treatment being performed to identify an abnormal respiratory condition. These abnormal conditions may include the intubation tube located in the esophagus, ineffective CPR, or an airway obstruction, for example. When an abnormal condition is identified () a visual or audible alarm () is issued to alert a caregiver to tend to the patient.
