Disclosed herein is a display device for more appropriately providing a surround effect. The display device may include a display configured to display a video, an audio output interface configured to output sound, a wireless communication interface configured to establish Bluetooth connection with at least one external speaker, and a controller configured to control an audio mode to a surround mode or a non-surround mode according to the video.

The present disclosure relates to an image display apparatus and a method thereof. The image display apparatus according to an embodiment of the present disclosure comprises: a display; an external device interface configured to perform short-range communication; and a controller configured to: when the number of external devices communicatively connected with the image display apparatus is one, or when a bandwidth usage for the short-range communication is less than a predetermined reference, transmit an entire signal to the one external device, when the number of the external devices is two or more, and the bandwidth usage is greater than or equal to the predetermined reference, acquire a plurality of channel signals from the entire signal; transmit a first channel signal to a first external device among the external devices; and transmit a second channel signal to a second external device among the external devices.

Image display apparatus and method thereof

A display device includes a short-range communication unit to receive a search request signal from a mobile terminal and receive a voice signal from the mobile terminal after receiving the search request signal; and a display unit to display a result searched based on the voice signal.

Display device and operating method thereof

A display device according to an embodiment of the present invention may comprise: a short-range communication unit for receiving a search request signal from a mobile terminal making a telephone call; a control unit for obtaining a connection state with the mobile terminal as the search request signal is received, and receiving an audio signal from the mobile terminal if the control unit is connected to the mobile terminal; and a display unit for displaying a result of a search on the basis of the audio signal.
