A light-emitting compound and a display device adopting the light-emitting compounds as a color-developing substance. When the display device adopts an organic layer formed of the light-emitting compound, such as a light-emitting layer or an electron transport layer, as a blue light-emitting material, it can display blue and has good luminous efficiency and driving voltage characteristics.

When an organic layer such as a light-emitting layer is formed using the light-emitting compound as a blue light-emitting material, an organic electro-luminescence device having improved luminous efficiency and luminance characteristics can be obtained.

Display device adopting light-emitting compound as color-developing substance

An organic electroluminescence (EL) device including an electron transport layer formed between a pair of electrodes, wherein the electron transport layer contains 50&tilde;99.9 wt % of alcohol-soluble polymer and 0.1&tilde;50 wt % of electron transporting material. In the EL device according to the present invention, the electron transport layer can be formed through a spin-coating without damage to the light-emitting layer. Thus, the manufacture process for the organic EL device is simplified, and the time and cost required for the manufacture are reduced.

A light-emitting compound and a display device adopting the light-emitting compound as a color-developing substance. The light-emitting compound, as a blue luminous material, is good in luminous efficiency. When the display device adopts an organic layer such as a light-emitting layer, formed of the light-emitting compound, an organic organic electro-luminescence (EL) device displaying blue can be obtained.
