A method and apparatus for annotating video is provided herein. During the process of annotating a video, a skipped portion of video will be analyzed for predetermined events or items. The video immediately following the skipped video will be annotated based on the analysis of the skipped video. The annotation process results in text being added to the video explaining and/or commenting on the predetermined events or items being detected within the skipped video.

A method and apparatus for PTT over IoT is described herein. During operation each IoT device will be assigned to a talkgroup. Some talkgroups may have a single IoT device assigned, some IoT device may have multiple talkgroups assigned, and other talkgroups may have multiple IoT devices assigned. During operation, an action command is received over a first talkgroup and a first command type is issued to a first IoT device assigned to that talkgroup. A second action command is received over a second talkgroup and a second command type is issued to a second IoT device assigned to the second talkgroup. When determine that multiple radios are issuing action command to the same IoT device through PTT talkgroup, create a new PTT talkgroup to be populated with the multiple radios.

Method for real-time talk-group creation within a push to talk for the internet of things system

A device, system and method for public safety assistance detection is provided. The device comprises a communication interface; a location determining device; an input device; a memory storing keywords; and a controller. The controller implements: an assistance application; and at least one monitored application at which alphanumeric input is received using the input device, each of the assistance application and the at least one monitored application hosted by different respective servers. When the alphanumeric input is received at the at least one monitored application, the controller provides the alphanumeric input to the assistance application. When the alphanumeric input is received at the assistance application includes one or more keywords, the controller transmits, using the interface, at least a portion of the alphanumeric input to a server that hosts the assistance application, as well as a current location determined using the location determining device.
