An electronic device is provided. The electronic device includes a first buffer configured to store video data and a system on chip. The system on chip may include a compression module configured to compress the video data stored in the first buffer, an encryption module configured to encrypt the compressed video data, and a universal serial bus (USB) hardware interface configured to transmit the encrypted video data. The compression module, the encryption module, and the USB hardware interface may be connected by a hardware signal line which is used to transmit video data.

An apparatus and method for automatically switching the operation mode of a switching circuit in a portable terminal are provided. If an external device is connected to a connector interface unit, a signal is detected from the connector interface unit. The type of external device is identified by the detected signal. If the identified external device is a communication device, a communication mode is activated and a signal path is established between an internal module and the external device during the communication mode. A determination is made as to whether an internal event occurs in the portable terminal and an external event occurs in the external device, during the communication mode. The mode of the connector switching circuit is switched to a sleep mode if the internal and external events have not occurred.

Apparatus and method for controlling USB switching circuit in portable terminal

An apparatus and method for automatically switching the operation mode of a Universal Serial Bus (USB) switching circuit in a portable terminal are provided. If an external device is connected to a USB interface unit, a signal is detected from the USB interface unit. The type of external device is identified by the detected signal. If the identified external device is a USB communication device, a communication mode is activated and a signal path is established between an internal module and the USB communication device during the communication mode. A determination is made as to whether an internal event occurs in the portable terminal and an external event occurs in the USB communication device, during the communication mode. The mode of the USB switching circuit is switched to a sleep mode if the internal and external events have not occurred.

A method of controlling a mobile terminal on an external device basis and an external device operation system using the same are provided. The system includes a connector for connecting an external device, a switch for determining a type of the external device connected to the connector and switching according to the type thereof, a transceiver to be connected, if the external device is an external device which requires a high speed data transmission, to the external device according to switching of the switch, and a USB switch to be connected, if the external device is an external device which does not require a high speed data transmission, to the external device according to switching of the switch.

When the remote controller battery is exhausted to a low state, the state is detected and displayed on a display device located at the apparatus which is controlled by the commands from the remote controller. The voltage state of the battery is detected upon the actuation of a key of the remote controller. If a low state is detected, a low battery data code is added to the command code generated as a result of actuation of the key, and both kinds of data are transmitted to the controlled electronic device. The transmitted data is received at the controlled electronic device. The low battery data is detected and displayed on a display device of the remotely controlled electronic device.
