A phased array radio-frequency (RF) coil includes a cylindrical frame including a coaxial inner frame and a coaxial outer frame having different diameters; and vertical loop coils arranged in a circumferential direction of the cylindrical frame. Each vertical loop coil includes an inner conductor extending in a lengthwise direction on the coaxial inner frame; an outer conductor extending in a lengthwise direction on the coaxial outer frame and facing the inner conductor; and a first resonant frequency adjustment capacitor for connecting one end of the inner conductor in the lengthwise direction and one end of the outer conductor in the lengthwise direction so that the phased array RF coil resonates at an MR operating frequency.

Phased array RF coil for magnetic resonance imaging

A system acquires RF magnetic field information (B1 magnetic field information) in response to generated radio frequency (RF) pulses applied to a target object via at least one of a plurality of RF coil elements in a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) system. The system acquires first information comprising B1 magnetic field phase information of a B1 magnetic field formed by the respective RF coil elements and acquires second information comprising B1 magnetic field phase information of a B1 magnetic field formed by a combination of two or more of a plurality of RF coil elements. The system acquires third information comprising B1 magnetic field phase information by combining the first information and the second information and processes the first, second and third information in providing a B1 map indicating spatial distribution of a B1 magnetic field.

Method and apparatus for acquiring B1 magnetic field information

A method acquires RF magnetic field information (B1 magnetic field information) in response to generated radio frequency (RF) pulses in a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) system. An RF excitation pulse sequence is generated, and the generated RF excitation pulse sequence includes a plurality of RF excitation pulses individually having different flip angles. The generated RF excitation pulse sequence is transmitted to a target object. RF echo response signals are received from the target object corresponding to the plurality of RF excitation pulses and B1 information is acquired by processing the received RF echo response signals.

The present invention relates to an electric circuit having a transformer capable of functioning as a buffer inductor, and a magnetic stimulator using the transformer. The electric circuit of the present invention includes a power supply unit, and rectification means for rectifying current from the power supply unit. A transformer has an inductor on a primary side connected to the power supply unit. A capacitor is connected to an inductor on a secondary side of the transformer. Reverse flow prevention means is connected in series between the capacitor and the transformer to prevent charges stored in the capacitor from reversely flowing toward the transformer. A discharge inductor receives charges stored in the capacitor as discharge current and forms a magnetic field. First switching means turns on or off flow of the discharge current that flows in one direction. Bypass means causes current to flow in one direction.

A magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) system includes a computer for performing overall control and signal processing, a pulse generator for generating a predetermined RF pulse signal and a gradient field pulse signal having variable intensities, a main magnet for generating a static magnetic field, a gradient field coil having a cylindrical dish-like structure surrounding a magnetic pole of the main magnet for generating a gradient field based on the gradient field pulse signal, an RF coil for transmitting a RF field according to the RF pulse signal to an imaging object and receiving MR signals from the imaging object, and an analog-to-digital converter for converting the MR signals from the RF coil into digital signals and outputting the converted digital signals to the computer. The influence of the reverse magnetic field generated from the reverse circulation portion of the gradient field coil is reduced whereby the linear gradient field region and an image region thereof are enlarged, and gradient field coils can be attached stably to magnetic poles whereby vibration and noise are reduced.
