A turbo-machine for transporting media loaded with solid particles includes a housing. At least one impeller is disposed inside the housing and defines impeller side spaces disposed between the impeller and the housing. Wall surfaces bound the impeller side spaces. The wall surfaces have various shaped protrusions, recesses, blades and grooves for conducting the flow of the medium near the wall at least partly into regions where the transport medium has a greater rotational motion.

Turbo-machine with reduced abrasive wear

A turbo-machine comprises a housing. The housing has internal surfaces which come into contact with fluid flowing through the turbo-machine. The surfaces have an ordered, fine, sharp-edged groove structure that is affixed to the surfaces, such that the groove structure extends predominantly in the flow direction.

Structured surfaces for turbo-machine parts

A centrifugal pump impeller for delivering solids-containing media includes a blade having a beginning portion. In the plane of the middle blade surface, there is, in front of the blade beginnings, a very fiat transition from the impeller covering disks to the blade beginnings.
