One method involves assigning a first identifier to a first stream of messages from a user input device corresponding to a first user input with respect to an application, and while a user interaction state associated with the first stream of messages is active, assigning a second identifier to a second stream of messages from the user input device, and in response to detecting the second identifier corresponds to the first identifier, deactivating the first stream of messages associated with the first stream of messages, wherein deactivating the first stream of messages results in the application responding to the second stream of messages corresponding to the second user input.

Cursor management methods and systems for recovery from incomplete interactions

Methods and systems are provided for resolving a user input. One method involves associating a user input with a first application based on an initial location associated with one or more messages of the user input message stream corresponding to a first graphical user interface (GUI) display associated with the first application. Thereafter, in response to identifying an updated location associated with a subsequent message of the message stream corresponding to a second GUI display associated with a second application, the method provides indication of the updated location to the second application to generate a graphical representation of a cursor associated with the user input at the updated location within the second GUI display and provide second indication of the updated location of the user input to the first application to respond to the user input in accordance with the updated location.

Cursor management methods and systems

Vehicle systems and methods are provided for decoupling user input devices and software applications using contextual information. One method involves a user input management service receiving an input context message from an interactive application identifying an anticipated data type to be received by the interactive application, maintaining an association between the anticipated data type and the interactive application, identifying an input data type associated with a received user input, and when the input data type matches the anticipated data type, broadcasting, by the user input management service, a message including an indication of the input data type and an input value of the received user input for the input data type to the interactive application, wherein the interactive application responds to the input value for the input data type.

Methods and systems for decoupling user input using context

Vehicle systems and methods are provided for associating text entry components with software applications in a decoupled software environment. One method involves a user input management service associating a user input from a user input device with an interactive application based on a location associated with the user input, providing the user input to the application based on the association, wherein the application responds to the user input, receiving indication of selection of a text input element by the user input from the application. In response to the indication of selection of the text input element, the user input management service associates a text entry component with the application and thereafter provides a text input received from the associated text entry component to the application based on the association between the text entry component and the application, wherein the application responds to the text input.

Methods and systems for assigning text entry components to cursors

Methods and systems are provided for resolving a user input. One method involves a user input management service associating a user input with a first application based on an initial location associated with one or more messages of the user input message stream corresponding to a first graphical user interface (GUI) display associated with the first application. Thereafter, in response to identifying an updated location associated with a subsequent message of the message stream corresponding to a second GUI display associated with a second application, the user input management service provides indication of the updated location to the second application to generate a graphical representation of a cursor associated with the user input at the updated location within the second GUI display and provide second indication of the updated location of the user input to the first application to respond to the user input in accordance with the updated location.

Systems and methods of controlling the touch sensitivity of a projected capacitive touch detection system are provided. The temperature that is at least representative of the touch sensitive region temperature is sensed. Based on the sensed temperature, the numbers of the capacitive touch sensors that have different strength electric fields applied thereto are varied and/or the relative magnitudes of the different electric fields are varied. When installed in a vehicle, the operational state of the vehicle may also impact this operation.

Systems and methods for smudge control for touch screen human interface devices

A flexible conductor formed on a flexible substrate. In one embodiment, a semiconductor device is disclosed. The semiconductor device comprises a periodic structure of islands and at least one conductor. The at least one conductor comprises a series of repeating geometric features affixed to the periodic structure of islands. The geometric features of the conductor are adapted to stretch the conductor rather than break the conductor when the substrate is bent.

Conductor geometry for electronic circuits fabricated on flexible substrates

An improved method for providing extended electro static discharge protection of an active matrix liquid crystal display, at the external lead contact areas by using a shorting conductor or bar to short out all row and column contacts or leads on the display, and to protect the electronics during active matrix processing, fabrication, polarizer attachment, and connecting of display leads. The display connection leads and the shorting bar on those leads, are on the front side of the active glass layer of the display. A saw is used to provide an accurate and relatively deep cut on the back side of the active glass layer thereby forming a border within the perimeter of the shorting bar on the front side of the active glass layer. The cut on the back side does not go through the active glass layer but stops several mils from the front side of the active glass layer. This method allows the shorting bar to remain intact with the display's external leads through all of the processing steps, including polarizer installation and the flex connector/driver connection, at least until active matrix liquid crystal display testing is ready to commence. After the polarizers are attached and external connections to the display contacts are made, the edge or border of the active glass layer, incorporating the shorting bar, is broken off at the cut.
