The subject matter disclosed herein provides methods and apparatus, including computer program products, for providing a weak dependency linking two tasks of a workflow of task. In one aspect, there is provided a computer-implemented method. The method receives, from a user interface, an indication representing a link between a first task and a second task. The link being a weak dependency linking the first and second task. The weak dependency representing that one or more tasks may be inserted between the first and second tasks. The first and second tasks including the link representing the weak dependency may be provided to the user interface. The link presented at the user interface to enable identification of the weak dependency. Related apparatus, systems, methods, and articles are also described.

Embodiments of configuring elements of a first enterprise system (ES) and a second ES in mechanisms are described generally herein. For example, in an enterprise system (ES) module for a first ES may include a plurality of configurable elements and a configuration module. The configuration of a first configurable element of the plurality of configurable elements may affect the configuration of a second configurable element of a second ES. The configuration module may configure the a portion of the plurality of the configurable elements of the first ES based on a configuration of the first configurable element. The configuration module may further and generate a configuration element information (CEI) message for the second ES that includes an indication of the configuration of the first configurable element. Other embodiments may be described and claimed.

The present system provides a task manager that extracts information relating to tasks from a task oriented email. The system then integrates the task within the system by connecting the email programs, the task management programs, and a database, to automatically send emails and provide links to documents all related to completion of the task. Methods are provided that allow users of the system to efficiently interface with the system to complete and archive tasks.

A method and system are provided for providing a user interface in a workflow management system. The method includes, responsive to user inputs defining a workflow in the workflow management system, displaying the workflow in a graph-based format, wherein the workflow includes a set of steps and a control flow. The method further includes deriving a set of automatically-generated rules from the set of steps and the control flow to create a rule-based format representing the workflow. There may more manual-maintained rules that are not a part of the graph or control flow, but attached to one or more steps. The method further includes executing the rule-based format workflow at a server.

System and method for designing a workflow

A transformation method is described having three phases. The first phase provides a tool and language independent annotation framework to capture semantics of entities as well as their relationships with other entities. The second phase converts the entities on the business level into corresponding entities on a technical level. The conversion preserves the semantics of the entities defined at the business level and transforms them into a representation implementable at the technical level. The third phase reassembles the transformed entities into a cross-organizational business process in a desired technical modeling language and tool.
