A channel estimation method estimates a data channel of a data resource element of a physical resource block in a time-frequency domain. The method includes: utilizing a detection circuit to perform a first physical resource block bundling detection in a first direction of the time-frequency domain to detect if at least one neighboring physical resource block is allowed to be bundled with the physical resource block, and accordingly generating a first physical resource block bundling detection result; determining a physical resource block processing range according to at least the first physical resource block bundling detection result, wherein at least the physical resource block is included in the physical resource block processing range; obtaining a plurality of pilot channels for pilot resource elements in the physical resource block processing range; and estimating the data channel of the data resource element according to the pilot channels.

A channel estimation method and an associated device for estimating a data channel of a data resource element are provided. The channel estimation method includes obtaining a plurality of pilot channels for pilot resource elements in a time-frequency domain, respectively; utilizing a processing circuit to apply a transformation matrix to the pilot channels, to obtain a plurality of transformed pilot channels corresponding to the pilot resource elements, respectively; and estimating the data channel of the data resource element by performing a plurality of one-dimensional channel estimations according to the transformed pilot channels.

A TD-SCDMA receiver is provided that includes a joint detection (JD) block receiving a first input signal from a channel estimation block for signal detection. A short channel detection (SCD) block receives the first input signal and detecting the presence/absence of an AGWN-like channel based on the first input signal from the channel estimation block. The SCD block switches the JD block between 1&#xd7; and 2&#xd7; oversampling rates by sending to the JD block a second input signal.
