A method for qualitative identification and quantitative determination of caffeine in a drug. In the method, terahertz absorption coefficient spectra of drugs with different concentrations of caffeine are measured, from which the frequency points, amplitudes and peak areas of characteristic peaks of the drugs with different concentrations of caffeine are obtained as characteristic quantities. Concentration gradients are established between the concentrations and the characteristic quantities, respectively. The characteristic quantities are imported to the SVR model to establish a training set and a test set. Finally, the qualitative identification and quantitative analysis of caffeine in unknown drugs are achieved.

Terahertz spectrum of a reference mixture is trained through an SVR algorithm, and predicting parameters of key substances in the mixture to be determined after a model is generated. A method for detecting notoginseng using terahertz technology. The notoginseng samples are pulverized in pulverizer. The pulverized samples are mixed with polyethylene powder in the ratio of 1:4 to 1:6. The powder mixture is pressed in a tablet press to obtain notoginseng tablet. Terahertz spectrograph is started. A device and method of enhancing terahertz wave signals based on a hollow metal waveguide are disclosed. Simple devices such as a beam splitter, multiple plane mirrors, a beam combiner and an adjustable delay system are used. Two laser beams having a wavelength of 800 nm split by the beam splitter generate a fixed time phase delay, and are converged in the hollow metal waveguide to sequentially overlap with pulse of a laser having a wavelength of 400 nm for nonlinear interaction to ionize gas in the optical fiber to generate terahertz waves. The hollow metal waveguide can converge and transmit the generated terahertz waves due to its total reflection characteristics.

Method and device of enhancing terahertz wave signals based on hollow metal waveguide optical fiber

An optical switch is provided in which a cell comprised of photopolymer dispersed in a liquid crystal sandwiched between two transparent plates is first recorded with a grating utilizing two plane wave laser beams interacting at an angle. This grating is permanently established in the cell such that when the cell is illuminated the incoming beam is diffracted in accordance with the spatial frequency of the grating. When an electric signal is applied across the cell, the refractive index of the liquid crystal matches that of the photopolymer due to the molecular orientation of the liquid crystal and no diffraction occurs because the grating formed in the liquid crystal is temporarily erased or over written. The liquid crystal cell therefore becomes transparent with the application of the electrical signal. Switching occurs by whether or not the grating is present or not, which is in turn dependent upon whether or not there is an electrical signal applied across the cell.
