Provided is a cosmetic composition with excellent storage stability, feel during use and ultraviolet light blocking effects, in which an inorganic ultraviolet light blocking agent comprising a hydrophobic fine particulate metal oxide, e.g., hydrophobic fine particulate zinc oxide can be uniformly and stably dispersed in an aqueous phase, and in which a reduction in viscosity of a formulation is suppressed even when the structure of the hydrophobic fine particulate metal oxide is dispersed in the aqueous phase. The cosmetic composition comprises (A) a carboxylic acid modified silicone having a specific structure, (B) a water-soluble thickening agent, (C) a basic compound, and (D) a hydrophobic fine particulate metal oxide. The cosmetic composition is useful as a sunscreen cosmetic composition.

A manufacturing method for a polyether polysiloxane block copolymer composition that can avoid the use and incorporation of aromatic hydrocarbon-based solvents is provided. The manufacturing method is generally easy on an industrial production scale. The manufacturing method includes a step of obtaining a polyether polysiloxane block copolymer (A) by a specific reaction in the presence of a saturated hydrocarbon solvent (C) having an average number of carbon atoms in a range of 6 to 11, and a step of replacing the solvent (C) used in the reaction with (B) a (poly)glycol or a polyglycol derivative diluent, either during or after the aforementioned step. Also provided is a method of manufacturing a foam stabilizer or the like using the composition obtained by the aforementioned manufacturing method.

Polyether-polysiloxane block copolymer composition, foam stabilizer and method for producing polyurethane foam

Provided is an oil-in-water emulsion cosmetic composition having a high UV protection or blocking effect (particularly, boost effect of SPF value) and excellent water resistance and the like of a film (e.g., cosmetic film) without impairing the tactile sensation or the feeling of use particular to the oil-in-water emulsion cosmetic composition. The oil-in-water emulsion cosmetic composition comprises: (A) a carboxylic acid-modified silicone in a liquid form at 50° C., (B) a vinyl-based polymer emulsion, (C) a basic compound, and (D) an inorganic UV protecting agent consisting of hydrophobic fine particulate metal oxide. The oil-in-water emulsion cosmetic composition is useful as a sunscreen cosmetic composition.

Provided is a polyether-modified silicone composition. The composition comprises (A) a polyether-modified silicone, and (B) a monool organic compound. The monool organic compound (B) is selected from (B1) a glycol ether compound having a hydrogen atom substituted by an alkyl group having from 2 to 8 carbon atoms at one end, a secondary alcoholic hydroxy group at the other end, from 2 to 3 repeating oxyalkylene units having from 2 to 4 carbon atoms, and (B2) a tripropylene glycol monomethyl ether. Isopropyl alcohol does not exceed 1 mass % of the entire composition. Applications and manufacturing methods for the composition are also provided.

Polyether-modified silicone composition, surfactant, foam stabilizer, polyurethane foam forming composition, and cosmetic preparation including said composition, and method for producing said composition

A polyether-polysiloxane block copolymer composition is disclosed. The copolymer composition comprises (A) a polyether-polysiloxane block copolymer having in a molecule structural units as expressed by General Formula (1) below: where a terminal group thereof is an alkenyl group or the like bonded to a polyether portion. The copolymer composition further comprises (B) a liquid monool organic compound, which is (B1) a glycol ether compound having a low degree of polymerization, a terminal hydrogen substituted with a hydrocarbon group, and a secondary alcoholic hydroxyl group provided on another terminal, or (B2) a higher alcohol compound having a branched alkyl group with 12 or more carbon atoms. The copolymer composition generally does not contain a dimethyl polysiloxane at more than the mass of component (A). A manufacturing method, foam stabilizer or the like containing the copolymer composition, and a polyurethane foam are also disclosed.
