A plasma display assembly having increased structural rigidity without using a reinforcing member is disclosed. The plasma display assembly includes a PDP, a chassis base and at least one or more circuit boards so as to provide the electromechanical structures to produce an image. The chassis base supporting the PDP at a rear side thereof includes a base part and at least one extended bent part. The base part is formed substantially parallel to the PDP. The extended bent part is formed in at least one of upper, lower, left and right edges of the base part, and includes a first bent part bent with respect to the base part to extend rearwardly, a second bent part bent with respect to the first bent part to extend in a direction parallel to the chassis base, and a third bent part bent with respect to the second bent part to extend forwardly. The circuit boards are arranged to be connected to at the rear side of the chassis base and drive the PDP during operation.

Plasma display apparatus having a bent chassis base

The plasma display device has an improved structural assembly that includes improved heat transfer interfaces between each of a chassis base and a PDP and a thermally conductive member interposed therebetween. The plasma display device may include a plasma display panel; a chassis base supporting the plasma display panel; a thermally conductive member disposed between the plasma display panel and the chassis base; a first adhesive layer formed between the plasma display panel and the thermally conductive member to adhere the plasma display panel and the thermally conductive member; and a second adhesive layer formed between the thermally conductive member and the chassis base to adhere the thermally conductive member and the chassis base. An adhesive strength of the first adhesive layer may be greater than an adhesive strength of the second adhesive layer.

Plasma display module

A plasma display device prevents interconnect wiring from breaking due to thermal deformation, and is thus suitable for high definition. The plasma display device includes a chassis base, a plasma display panel disposed in front of the chassis base to display an image, a circuit board disposed in back of the chassis base for driving the plasma display panel, and interconnect wiring connecting the circuit board to the plasma display panel. The plasma display device has a structure in which a ratio of a distance between an end of the circuit board and a curve apex of the interconnect wiring to a distance between a front end and a back end of the interconnect wiring is at least 0.25. As a result, the interconnect wiring is prevented from breaking due to thermal expansion of the plasma display panel and the chassis base.

A plasma display device including improved electromagnetic shielding and improved impact resistance is disclosed. An embodiment of the plasma display device includes a plasma display module, and front and rear covers disposed over the front and rear sides of the plasma display module, respectively. The plasma display module comprises a plasma display panel, a chassis base mounted to a rear of the plasma display panel and supporting the same, a main shielding portion disposed on a front of the plasma display panel, and a tempered glass panel dimensioned and configured to cover an opening provided on the front cover such that at least a portion of an image formed on the plasma display panel is viewable therethrough. The main shielding portion is a filter such as a film formed from an electromagnetic shielding material.

A corner reinforcing member, which reinforces a corner portion of a chassis base, and a display module having the reinforcing member are disclosed. In one embodiment, the corner reinforcing member is manufactured by sheet metal working to withstand bending and twisting forces. Also, the corner reinforcing member facilitates the coupling of various designs of display sets to display modules and provides a configuration on which parts can be easily mounted for coupling. Furthermore, the corner reinforcing member can reduce manufacturing costs by reducing the number of parts for coupling. In one embodiment, the corner reinforcing member includes a reinforcing unit that comes into contact with a surface of a chassis base, and a connection unit formed parallel to a bending portion formed on an edge of a chassis base and connected to the reinforcing unit.

A plasma display panel having improved heat transfer efficiency and temperature distribution, and a plasma display device including the same are disclosed. The plasma display device includes a plasma display module that includes a plasma display panel on which an image is displayed, a chassis base facing the plasma display panel, a circuit unit disposed at a back side of the chassis base for driving the plasma display panel, a front cover and a back cover that house the plasma display module, and at least a heat radiation coating layer formed between the front cover and the back cover. The heat radiation layer reduces a conventional heat dissipation sheet unnecessary, and thus reduces process times and manufacturing costs.

Plasma display device and method for fabricating a plasma display device

A plasma display device comprises a plasma display panel, a chassis base for supporting the plasma display panel, and a circuit board assembly mounted on the chassis base with circuit elements for applying electrical signals required for driving the plasma display panel. The chassis base is bent with a curvature such that the curvature of the chassis base compensates for a curvature of the bent plasma display panel.

A display apparatus is provided. The display apparatus is an assembly of a display panel, a chassis, a circuit board and a board connection member. During operation, the display panel produces an image. The chassis includes a base supporting the display panel at the rear of the display panel, and a first protrusion protruding from the base in a direction away from the display panel. The circuit board is fixed at a position that is spaced apart from a rear surface of the chassis by a given gap and functions to electronically drive the display panel. The board connection member includes a chassis fixing portion, a board fixing portion and a connection supporter. The chassis fixing portion is connected to the first protrusion, the board fixing portion is connected to the circuit board, and the connection supporter is arranged between the circuit board and the chassis and connects the chassis fixing portion and the board fixing portion. Thus, the board connection members are used to fix the circuit board to the chassis during assembly.

The reinforcement member includes a base portion coupled to the chassis base and an extended portion bent from the base portion.
