A PDP apparatus having a driving circuit in which a circuit for applying a rising-slope waveform in a reset period, a circuit for applying a falling-slope waveform, and a clamp circuit for generating a falling waveform having a dulled waveform between the rising-slope waveform and the falling-slope waveform are comprised. The clamp circuit comprises a bidirectional switch having two FETs, and a gate feedback circuit is connected to a gate portion of the FET at a panel side. The PDP apparatus reduces a current noise occurring in a sustain electrode throughout the panel when switching the rising-slope waveform and the falling-slope waveform, thereby solving problems such as an increase of unnecessary radiation and stress on elements such as FETs on the path.

Plasma display apparatus and method of driving the same

The plasma display device includes connecting means for connecting the X/Y electrodes of the plasma display panel and the X/Y electrode drive circuits. In the X electrode pattern and the Y electrode pattern on the printed board in the connecting means, a current path connecting the center electrodes of the plasma display panel and the X electrode drive circuit or Y electrode drive circuit is longer than a current path connecting the peripheral electrodes and the X electrode drive circuit or Y electrode drive circuit. The current paths at the plasma display panel side are in the U-shape folded in the upper part and the lower part in the periphery of the plasma display panel, respectively. Also, the current paths are first connected to the upper or lower electrodes, and then sequentially connected to the center electrodes via the upper part and the lower part.

Plasma display device

A PDP apparatus comprises, in a circuit part, a ramp output device which outputs a ramp wave to electrodes of a PDP. The ramp output device has a ramp generator which generates and outputs a first ramp wave of which inclination is variable, an impedance conversion circuit which receives the first ramp wave as input and outputs a second ramp wave produced by impedance conversion, and a feedback circuit which receives the second ramp wave as input and feeds it back to the input of the ramp generator. The ramp generator outputs the second ramp wave as a ramp wave (output voltage). Techniques to realize output of stabilized ramp wave in a PDP apparatus so as to stabilize PDP display operations are provided.
