A liquid ejection head has an ejection module including a pressure chamber and an ejection element configured to eject a liquid in the pressure chamber, a supply channel, a collection channel connected to the supply channel through a pressure chamber, a first pressure adjustment unit, a second pressure adjustment unit, and a circulation pump. A controlled pressure in the first pressure adjustment unit is set higher than a controlled pressure in the second pressure adjustment unit. A pressure reception area of a second flexible member and a second pressing plate in a second pressure control chamber in a case where a second opening is brought into an open state is smaller than a pressure reception area of a first flexible member and a first pressing plate in a first pressure control chamber in a case where a first opening is brought into an open state.

Liquid ejection head

A liquid ejection head includes a pressure chamber communicating with an ejection port, an ejection element which ejects the liquid from the port, and a circulation path for the liquid including the chamber. The path includes a supply channel for supplying the liquid to the chamber, a collection channel for collecting the liquid from the chamber, a circulation pump which supplies the collected liquid to the supply channel, and a pressure adjustment unit configured to adjust a pressure on the liquid to be supplied to the supply channel. A pressure P21 on the liquid supplied to the chamber while the pump is stopped, a pressure P22 on the liquid supplied to the chamber while the pump is driven, and a pressure loss ΔP from the adjustment unit to the chamber while the pump is driven satisfy P22>P21 and P22−ΔP<0.

Liquid ejection head and liquid ejection apparatus

A liquid ejection head includes a pressure chamber, an upstream channel, a downstream channel, a pump, an inflow channel, and a bypass channel. The upstream channel communicates with the pressure chamber to supply the liquid to the pressure chamber. The downstream channel communicates with the pressure chamber. The pump communicates with the upstream channel and the downstream channel to cause the liquid in the downstream channel to flow into the upstream channel. The inflow channel communicates with the upstream channel to cause the liquid to be supplied to the pressure chamber to flow into the upstream channel. The upstream channel and the downstream channel communicate with each other through the bypass channel without the pressure chamber being between the upstream channel and the downstream channel. Part of the liquid flowing from the upstream channel into the bypass channel flows into the pressure chamber through the downstream channel.

A liquid ejection apparatus includes: a liquid storage unit; a liquid ejection head; a liquid communication path to communicate the liquid storage unit with the liquid ejection head; and a liquid pressurization unit to supply a liquid in the liquid storage unit to the liquid ejection head through the liquid communication path by pressurization. The liquid ejection head includes: an inlet; a pressure chamber; and a circulation path through which the liquid supplied from the liquid communication path is circulated. The circulation path includes a supply channel, the pressure chamber, a collection channel, a circulation pump, and a pressure adjustment unit. The circulation pump is disposed at a position which is higher in the direction of gravity than a liquid inlet provided in a liquid channel extending from the liquid storage unit to the pressure adjustment unit and where the circulation pump is not in contact with the inlet.

Liquid ejection apparatus and liquid ejection head

A liquid ejection head for ejecting a liquid while being scanned in a main scanning direction includes a circulation pump capable of supplying the liquid from a supply channel into a pressure chamber, and collecting the liquid in the pressure chamber through a collection channel and sending the liquid to the supply channel; a first pressure adjustment unit disposed between an outlet channel of the circulation pump and the supply channel; a second pressure adjustment unit disposed between an inlet channel of the circulation pump and the collection channel. At least one of the first pressure adjustment unit or the second pressure adjustment unit is configured such that pressures with different signs relative to a pressure at rest are generated in response to a forward scan and a backward scan in the main scanning direction.

A liquid ejection head includes: an ejection element configured to generate a pressure for ejecting the liquid; a supply channel through which the liquid is supplied to a pressure chamber; a collection channel connected to the supply channel through the pressure chamber and through which the liquid is collected from the pressure chamber; a circulation pump capable of supplying the liquid from the supply channel into the pressure chamber, and collecting the liquid in the pressure chamber through the collection channel and sending the liquid to the supply channel; a first pressure adjustment unit disposed between an outlet channel of the circulation pump and the supply channel and configured to adjust a pressure in the supply channel; and a second pressure adjustment unit disposed between an inlet channel of the circulation pump and the collection channel and configured to adjust a pressure in the collection channel.

Provided is a sealing member to be used as a valve in a pressure adjustment mechanism. The sealing member includes a base member having high strength, and has high reliability. The sealing member includes an elastic member (valve portion) having an annular abutment portion (valve distal end portion) formed as an annular protrusion and the base member (lever portion). When a held portion having a tubular shape extending from the annular abutment portion is held in an annular groove formed in the base member, the elastic member is fixed to the base member. A holding length over which an annular groove holds the held portion along a depth direction of the base member is set longer than a width of the annular groove.

Sealing member, method of manufacturing the same, pressure adjustment mechanism, liquid ejection head, and liquid ejection apparatus

A print head can suppress contamination due to ink at the time of being mounted on a printing apparatus and/or after being detached from the printing apparatus. For this purpose, a positioning pin longer than a needle is provided in a joint unit of the print head, and the joint unit includes a shutter which closes an opening on a supply side and an opening on a collection side when the print head is detached.

A pressure control unit includes a liquid storage chamber, an inflow port that allows the liquid to flow therein, and an outflow port that allows the liquid to flow out thereof, the pressure control unit controlling pressure of the liquid, wherein at least part of an outer wall of the liquid storage chamber is formed of a flexible film, a pressing plate that presses the flexible film, an urging member that urges the pressing plate, and a valve that opens and closes the outflow port. The pressing plate moves in a direction of expanding the liquid storage chamber, whereby the valve in contact with the pressing plate moves and makes a valve opening degree of the outflow port high. A range of motion of the valve when making the valve opening degree of the outflow port high is limited by a member other than the pressing plate.

Pressure control unit and liquid discharge device including pressure control unit

A method of manufacturing a liquid supply unit includes a first molding step and a second molding step. In a first molding step, a resin is injected into different positions inside a mold assembly and a first member having a first contact portion, a second member having a second contact portion and an intermediate passage member having a passage structure to connect the first contact portion to the second contact portion are molded. In a second molding step, the mold assembly is disassembled, a die slide mold disposed inside the mold assembly is moved for positioning the members. Then, the mold assembly is clamped again and a resin is injected into the mold assembly. The first contact portion and the second contact portion are respectively held on the same surfaces inside the mold assembly during a period from the first molding step to completion of the second molding step.

Method of manufacturing liquid supply unit

A sealing member, that is a resin molded product to be joined to a flow path forming member through which a fluid flows, has a surface including an opening constituting or including a portion of the flow path, a protrusion surrounding the circumference of the opening and a rib having one of its opposite ends connected to a part of the protrusion and the other end located inside or outside of the protrusion. The protrusion has at the top thereof a contact region to be pressed against and held in contact with the flow path forming member.

A liquid ejection head includes a liquid ejection portion configured to eject a liquid and a liquid supplying member. The liquid supplying member includes a first face, a second face that is the back face of the first face, a first connecting portion provided on the first face and fluidly connected to a main body, a second connecting portion provided on the second face and fluidly connected to the liquid ejection portion, and an interior channel communicating the first connecting portion and the second connecting portion. The interior channel includes a portion extending toward the first face and a portion extending toward the second face.

A method of manufacturing a liquid ejecting method includes: a first step of injection molding passage members collectively constituting a passage for a liquid in the liquid ejecting head; a second step of moving the passage members to bring the passage members into contact with each other; and a third step of injecting a sealing material into a space between the passage members held in contact with each other, and filling the space with the sealing material. The sealing material is injected and filled, from a gate on a longitudinal side of the passage members, in a direction intersecting with a longitudinal direction of the passage members.
