A color image forming process is disclosed. The process comprises color developing an imagewise exposed silver halide color photographic material with a developer containing an aromatic primary amine color developing agent, after successive steps of desilvering, washing and/or stabilizing, and drying, wherein said color photographic material has at least one silver halide emulsion layer containing silver halide grains containing substantially no silver iodide and containing at least 95 mol % silver chloride based on the total silver halide content, said silver halide grains further containing from 1.times.10.sup.-6 to 1.times.10.sup.-3 mol of an iron compound per mol of silver and said iron compound being distributed at an iron ion concentration in the surface phase of the grain of at least 5 times that in the inside phase of the grain,

A method of forming a color image comprising subjecting an imagewise exposed color photoraphic material to color development at a temperature of from 30.degree. C. to 50.degree. C. and for a period of from 5 seconds to 20 seconds by immersing the photographic material into a color developing solution wherein the solution contacts the surface of the photosensitive layer of the photographic material as a jet stream; wherein said color photographic material comprises a support having thereon at least two silver halide photographic emulsion layers, each of said layers comprising an emulsified dispersion of fine oleophilic grains containing at least one non-diffusive oil-soluble coupler capable of forming a dye by coupling with the oxidation product of an aromatic primary amine color developing agent and at least one high boiling point organic solvent, wherein silver halide grains in all of silver halide photographic emulsion layers on the support comprise at least 95 mol % silver chloride, and the ratio of the silver halide mean grain size calculated for each photographic emulsion layer on the support to that calculated for any other photographic emulsion layer is from 0.77/1 to 1.3/1, and wherein the color photographic material has an alkali-swelled film pH value of at least 9.0.

Method of forming a color image by high-speed development processing

An apparatus for processing a light-sensitive material that has a roller that is partly submerged in a processing solution and that picks up said processing solution to supply said processing solution onto the light-sensitive material being transported above said processing solution. A light-sensitive material and an image recording method using the same are disclosed. The material comprises a support having provided thereon a light sensitive layer containing at least a light-sensitive silver halide, a reducing agent, a polymerizable compound, and a color image forming substance, wherein at least the polymerizable compound and the color image forming substance are encapsulated in the same microcapsules. The material exhibits high sensitivity and excellent stability with time.

Image-recording method comprising heating a light-sensitive material

A light-sensitive material comprises a light-sensitive layer which contains silver halide, a reducing agent, a polymerizable compound and a color image forming substance provided on a support. The silver halide, polymerizable compound and color image forming substance are contained in microcapsules to form light-sensitive microcapsules which are dispersed in the light-sensitive layer. These light-sensitive microcapsules have spectral sensitivity peaks within the wavelength region of 600 nm to 950 nm and composed of at least two kinds of light-sensitive microcapsules differing from each other with respect to spectral sensitivity.

The material exhibits high sensitivity and provides a color image through a simple, easy, and rapid dry processing step, with reduced exposure time.

A light-sensitive material comprising a light-sensitive layer which contains silver halide, a reducing agent, a polymerizable compound and a color image forming substance provided on a support (the silver halide, polymerizable compound and color image forming substance are contained in microcapsules which are dispersed in the light-sensitive layer), characterized in that the microcapsules further contain a dye having a property of being decolorized when it is heated or irradiated with light.

A light-sensitive material comprises a light-sensitive layer provided on a support wherein the light-sensitive layer contains a silver halide grain, a polymerizable compound, a reducing agent and a color image forming substance. The polymerizable compound and color image forming substance are contained in microcapsules. The silver halide grain has a core/shell structure, and at least 90 mole % of halogen of the silver halide in the shell portion is iodine. The silver halide grain contains iridium ion in an amount of 10.sup.-7 to 10.sup.-3 mole based on one mole of the silver halide grain.

A light-sensitive material comprising a light-sensitive layer which contains silver halide, a reducing agent, a polymerizable compound and a color image forming substance provided on a support, wherein the silver halide, the polymerizable compound and the color image forming substance are contained in at least three kinds of microcapsules (I), (II) and (III) which are dispersed in the light-sensitive layer. Each of the microcapsules (I), (II) and (III) differs from each other with respect to the spectral sensitivity of the silver halide. The hue of the color image forming substance contained in the microcapsule (I) is the same as that in the microcapsule (II), and the hue of the color image forming substance contained in the microcapsule (III) is different from those in the microcapsules (I) and (II).
