Provided is a seat slide device for a vehicle capable of enhancing the degree of design freedom in an interior height of a vehicle cabin, light-weighting the vehicle, and enhancing comfort in use when a seat is moved forward and rearward. The seat slide device for a vehicle includes: an upper rail made of an aluminum alloy, including a sliding section having a plurality of ball rolling grooves each formed along a longitudinal direction of the upper rail; a lower rail made of an aluminum alloy, including: a guide groove for receiving the sliding section of the upper rail; and ball rolling grooves each formed in the guide groove along a longitudinal direction of the lower rail to be opposed to the plurality of ball rolling grooves of the sliding section; and a large number of guide balls each made of a synthetic resin, for supporting movement of the upper rail relative to the lower rail, the large number of guide balls being arrayed in line without using a cage in a portion between each of the plurality of ball rolling grooves and each of the ball rolling grooves.

Provided is a slide rail unit which, when accommodating a second rail () in a first rail (), can automatically draw in the second rail to an end position and retain it at that position and which can be produced easily with a small number of parts and at low cost, the slide rail unit being equipped with a retaining pin () provided upright so as to be movable with respect to the first rail () in the longitudinal direction and the width direction thereof, an elastic member () for urging the retaining pin () toward the stroke end of the second rail (), a pin guide member () provided on the first rail () and adapted to lock the retaining pin () at a standby position spaced apart from the stroke end against an urging force of the elastic member () and to guide the retaining pin () detached from the standby position toward the stroke end with the urging force, and a cam member () provided on the second rail () and adapted to detach the retaining pin () from the standby position of the pin guide member () and lock the retaining pin as it overlaps the pin guide member ().

A slide rail unit for guiding an object to be pulled out, such as drawer, from a body, such as furniture or desk, in which the object is slid ably accommodated includes a body side rail provided for the body, and an object (i.e., drawer) side rail provided for the object to be pulled out to be slidable relative to the body side rail. The body side rail and the object side rail each has a portion bent in a circular-arc shape so that the object is pulled out along a circular-arc locus.

The invention provides a retracting apparatus of a sliding rail in which a self locking state is not cancelled without intention, a structure and an adjustment are simple, and a cost is inexpensive. In the retracting apparatus of the sliding rail, a guiding member () is provided with two parallel arranged guiding grooves () which are linear in a predetermined range of a drawing and retracting direction, and are bent at a predetermined amount toward an approximately vertical lower side in an end portion in a drawing direction, an engagement member is provided with sliding pins (), and the sliding pins () slide along the guiding grooves () in accordance with movement in the drawing direction, and moves downward at a predetermined amount in an end portion in the drawing direction, whereby an engagement between the engagement member () and a driving member () is cancelled, the engagement member () is locked, the driving member () and the engagement member () are engaged with each other at an automatic retract position on the basis of the movement of the moving rail in the retracting direction, and the lock is cancelled.
