A cleaner for the inside of a water tank utilizing a siphoning action is provided, in which the interior of a water passage () between an upstream-side one-way valve (Vu) and a downstream-side one-way valve (Vd) is pressurized or depressurized by a pressing operation of a suction operation tool (A) provided in a bent connecting part between a main body portion () and a grip portion () of a suction pipe (P), and water-tank water of the main body portion () is sucked into the suction pipe (P). This enables waste material such as leftover food within water-tank water to be sucked up together with dirty water by a very simple operation.

The present invention relates to a filtering apparatus including a filter device externally hitched on a wall surface of an aquarium. A water pump pumps water stored in the aquarium into the filter device. The filter device is formed so that the water pumped from the water pump is divided into a first flow which is returned into the aquarium unfiltered, and a second flow which is filtered through a filter element and then returned into the aquarium in dependence on a siphon effect.

Thus, the cleaner has a good manipulatability, so that air stored in the cleaner can be reliably discharged, and the discharging of water can be carried out reliably.
