An electronic device includes a display panel having a folding region, which is foldable with respect to a folding axis extending in one direction, and a first non-folding region and a second non-folding region spaced apart from each other with the folding region therebetween, and a lower member disposed below the display panel. The lower member includes a support layer disposed below the display panel, where the support layer includes a first support portion overlapping the first non-folding region, and a second support portion overlapping the second non-folding region, and a digitizer disposed below the display panel and corresponds to the first support portion and the second support portion. The first support portion and the second support portion each independently include a reinforcement fiber, where the reinforcement fiber includes an aramid fiber or includes a carbon fiber and a glass fiber.

The display device also includes a functional layer over the thin-film encapsulating layer, wherein the thin-film encapsulating layer comprises a first region overlapping the curved portion, and a second region overlapping the flat portion. The inorganic layer contacts the functional layer, and wherein the inorganic layer has a first surface roughness in the first region different from a second surface roughness in the second region.

A method of manufacturing a flexible display apparatus and a flexible display apparatus, the method including preparing a flexible substrate such that the flexible substrate includes a display area and a peripheral area at an outer portion of the display area; forming an inorganic layer portion on the display area and the peripheral area of the flexible substrate; forming a plurality of organic light emitting devices on the display area of the flexible substrate; detecting a crack of the inorganic layer portion formed on the peripheral area of the flexible substrate; and forming a crack guide hole around the crack.
