Promoters for heterogeneous olefin metathesis

According to one embodiment, a catalyst system that reduces polymeric fouling may comprise at least one titanate compound, at least one aluminum compound, and at least one antifouling agent or a derivative thereof. The antifouling agent may comprise a structure comprising a central aluminum molecule bound to an R1 group, bound to an R2 group, and bound to an R3 group. One or more of the chemical groups R1, R2, and R3 may be antifouling groups comprising the structure —O((CH)O)R4, where n is an integer from 1 to 20, m is an integer from 1 to 100, and R4 is a hydrocarbyl group. The chemical groups R1, R2, or R3 that do not comprise the antifouling group, if any, may be hydrocarbyl groups.

Antifouling oligomerization catalyst systems

A process for selectively producing oligomers may comprise bringing at least one antifouling agent into contact with a first amount of at least one aluminum alkyl compound to form at least one antifouling compound comprising the structure or its dimeric form; and feeding the at least one antifouling compound, an additional amount of the at least one aluminum alkyl compound, at least one titanate compound, and ethylene into a jet loop reactor and oligomerizing ethylene to produce one or more of 1-butene, 1-hexene, or 1-octene. One or more of the chemical groups R1, R2, and R3 may be the antifouling agent comprising the structure —O((CH)O)R4. n may be an integer of from 1 to 20. m may be an integer of from 1 to 100. R4 may be a hydrocarbyl group. In embodiments, the chemical groups R1, R2, or R3 that do not comprise the antifouling agent, if any, may be hydrocarbyl groups. The at least one titanate compound may be fed as a stream separate from the streams of the at least one antifouling compound and the additional amount of the at least one aluminum alkyl compound. The of the sum of the first amount and the additional amount of the at least one aluminum alkyl compound to the at least one titanate compound may be equal to or higher than 1.5 and equal to or lower than 3.0.

Process for selective ethylene oligomerization with antifouling components

In accordance with one or more embodiments of the present disclosure, a multi-stage process for upgrading a mixed pyrolysis oil comprising polyaromatic compounds to benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylenes (BTEX) includes combining light pyrolysis oil with heavy pyrolysis oil to form the mixed pyrolysis oil; upgrading the mixed pyrolysis oil in a slurry-phase reactor zone to produce intermediate products, wherein the slurry-phase reactor zone comprises a mixed metal oxide catalyst; and hydrocracking the intermediate products in a fixed-bed reactor zone to produce the BTEX, wherein the fixed-bed reactor zone comprises a mesoporous zeolite-supported metal catalyst.

Two stage catalytic process for mixed pyrolysis oil upgrading to BTEX

According to embodiments, a method of producing a catalyst composition may include forming a slurry including an initial zeolite material, a surfactant, silica, and metal precursors, wherein the metal precursors contain a nickel-containing compound and a silver-containing compound, extruding the slurry to produce an extrudate, drying and calcining the extrudate to form a dried and calcined extrudate, hydrothermally treating the dried and calcined extrudate to form a hydrothermally-treated extrudate, and drying and calcining the hydrothermally-treated extrudate to produce the catalyst composition, wherein the catalyst composition includes zeolite, one or more oxides of nickel, and one or more oxides of silver.

Methods of producing catalysts comprising one or more oxides of nickel and one or more oxides of silver

A method for producing one or more of benzene, toluene, or xylene may include contacting a feed stream including Calkylaromatic hydrocarbons with a catalyst mixture to form one or more of benzene, toluene, or xylene. The catalyst mixture may include mesoporous zeolite Beta, ZSM-5 zeolite, one or more active metals, and binder material. The feed stream may include Calkylaromatic hydrocarbons in an amount of at least 10 wt. %. The weight ratio of mesoporous zeolite Beta to ZSM-5 zeolite may be from 2 to 4.

Methods for producing xylenes with limited ethylbenzene production

A method for upgrading mixed pyrolysis oil may include contacting the mixed pyrolysis oil with hydrogen in the presence of a mixed metal oxide catalyst at reaction conditions to produce a reaction effluent including light aromatic compounds. The mixed pyrolysis oil includes multi-ring aromatic compounds and is formed from light pyrolysis oil and heavy pyrolysis oil at a ratio of 10:90 to 40:60 with light pyrolysis oil representing a bottom stream of a gas steam cracker and heavy pyrolysis oil representing a bottom stream of a naphtha steam cracker. The mixed metal oxide catalyst includes a plurality of catalyst particles with each catalyst particles including a plurality of metal oxides. An associated system for upgrading mixed pyrolysis oil may include a pyrolysis upgrading unit housing the mixed metal oxide catalyst and a separation unit operable to separate used mixed metal oxide catalyst from the reaction effluent.

Methods and systems for upgrading mixed pyrolysis oil to light aromatics over mixed metal oxide catalysts

Catalyst systems suitable for tetramerizing ethylene to form 1-octene may include a catalyst having a structure according to Formula (VI) or Formula (VII). In Formulas (VI) and (VII), X is a halogen, a (C-C) carboxylate, acetylacetonate, or a (C-C) hydrocarbyl; Lis a neutral coordinating ligand; n is an integer from 0 to 6; Y is a (C-C)fluorine-substituted aryl, a (C-C)fluorine-substituted aryloxy, or a (C-C)fluorine-substituted alkoxy; and L∩L is a bidentate chelating ligand. The catalyst system may also include an aluminum containing agent which includes a reaction product of an organoaluminum compound and an antifouling compound. The antifouling compound may include one or more quaternary salts.

Catalyst systems

In accordance with one or more embodiments of the present disclosure, a method for producing aromatic compounds from pyrolysis gasoline comprising C-Cnon-aromatic hydrocarbons includes aromatizing the pyrolysis gasoline in an aromatization unit, thereby converting the C-Cnon-aromatic hydrocarbons to a first stream comprising benzene-toluene-xylenes (BTX); hydrotreating the first stream comprising BTX in a selective hydrotreatment unit, thereby producing a de-olefinated stream comprising BTX hydrodealkylating and transalkylating the de-olefinated stream comprising BTX in a hydrodealkylation-transalkylation unit, thereby producing a second stream comprising BTX, the second stream comprising BTX having a greater amount of benzene and xylenes than the first stream comprising BTX; and processing the second stream comprising BTX in an aromatics recovery complex, thereby producing the aromatic compounds from the pyrolysis gasoline, the aromatic compounds comprising benzene, toluene, and xylenes.

Integrated process for pygas upgrading to BTX

Processes for producing olefins include integration of steam cracking with a dual catalyst metathesis process. The processes include steam cracking a hydrocarbon feed to form a cracking reaction effluent containing butenes, separating the cracking reaction effluent to produce a cracking C4 effluent including normal butenes, isobutene, and 1,3-butadiene, subjecting the cracking C4 effluent to selective hydrogenation to convert 1,3-butadiene in the cracking C4 effluent to normal butenes, removing isobutene from a hydrogenation effluent to produce a metathesis feed containing normal butenes, and contacting the metathesis feed with a metathesis catalyst and a cracking catalyst directly downstream of the metathesis catalyst to produce a metathesis reaction effluent. Contacting with the metathesis catalyst causes metathesis of normal butenes to produce ethylene, propene, and C5+ olefins, and contacting with the cracking catalyst causes C5+ olefins produced through metathesis to undergo cracking reactions to produce additional propene, ethylene, or both.

Systems and processes integrating steam cracking with dual catalyst metathesis for producing olefins

In accordance with one or more embodiments of the present disclosure, a method for producing aromatic compounds from pyrolysis gasoline includes splitting the pyrolysis gasoline into a stream comprising non-aromatic hydrocarbons and a stream comprising paraffinic hydrocarbons and aromatic hydrocarbons; aromatizing the stream comprising paraffinic hydrocarbons and aromatic hydrocarbons, thereby converting the stream comprising paraffinic hydrocarbons and aromatic hydrocarbons to a first stream comprising benzene-toluene-xylenes (BTX); hydrotreating the first stream comprising BTX in a selective hydrotreatment unit, thereby producing a de-olefinated stream comprising BTX; hydrodealkylating and transalkylating the de-olefinated stream comprising BTX in a hydrodealkylation-transalkylation unit, thereby producing a second stream comprising BTX, the second stream comprising BTX having a greater amount of benzene and xylenes than the first stream comprising BTX; and processing the second stream comprising BTX in an aromatics recovery complex, thereby producing the aromatic compounds comprising benzene, toluene, and xylenes.

Integrated process for upgrading C6+ and C8+ non-aromatics in pygas to BTX

The antifouling compound may include one or more organic acids, organic acid salts, esters, anhydrides, or combinations of these.

Processes for producing olefins include passing a hydrocarbon feed to a hydrocarbon cracking unit that cracks the hydrocarbon feed to produce a cracker effluent, passing the cracker effluent to a cracker effluent separation system that separates the cracker effluent to produce at least a cracking C4 effluent including 1-butene, 1,3-butadiene, and isobutene, passing the cracking C4 effluent to an SHIU that contacts the cracking C4 effluent with hydrogen in the presence of a selective hydrogenation catalyst to produce a hydrogenation effluent having a 2-butenes concentration greater than or equal to the sum of the concentrations of 1-butene and isobutene. The processes include passing the hydrogenation effluent to a metathesis unit that contacts the hydrogenation effluent with a metathesis catalyst and a cracking catalyst downstream of the metathesis catalyst to produce a metathesis reaction effluent comprising at least propene.

Processes integrating hydrocarbon cracking with metathesis for producing propene

The antifouling agent may be chosen from one or more of a phosphonium or phosphonium salt; a sulfonate or a sulfonate salt; a sulfonium or sulfonium salt; an ester including a cyclic moiety; an anhydride; a polyether; and a long-chained amine-capped compound. The catalyst system may further include a non-polymeric ether compound.
