An infrared-laser source device provided with an external housing, said external housing comprising: a light output interface arranged in a front part of the external housing, at least one infrared-laser source arranged in a rear part of the external housing and configured to emit an IR-laser beam providing a first emitting area at the light output interface, and a first light distributing element configured to diverge light at the light output interface, wherein said infrared-laser source device further comprises a second light distributing element separated from the first light distributing element and providing, at the light output interface, a second emitting area larger than the first emitting area.

The present disclosure discloses a computer-implemented method for a pitch angle recognition of a steering column in a vehicle. In aspects, the computer-implemented method includes measuring first acceleration data using a first acceleration sensor and measuring second acceleration data using a second acceleration sensor. The computer-implemented method further includes determining drift data of at least one of the first acceleration sensor and the second acceleration sensor based on the first acceleration data and the second acceleration data. Additionally, the computer-implemented method includes determining a pitch angle of the steering column based on the drift data, the first acceleration data, and the second acceleration data.

Methods and systems for a pitch angle recognition of a steering column in a vehicle

The method comprises a step of processing pixel values provided at the output of an image sensor comprising a two-dimensional array of pixels including a mix of IR pixels and color pixels. The step of processing includes, for each color pixel, determining a local color-related ratio indicative of a part of infrared light reception in the color pixel, and estimating an infrared portion value from a color pixel value based on the local color-related ratio. The method further includes generating an infrared image from pixel values from the IR pixels and the estimated infrared portion values from the color pixels.

An optical system for monitoring a vehicle driver's eye gaze includes a first illumination source and a second illumination source for emitting light towards the driver's eye, a lens, and an image sensor for detecting an image, wherein the lens is configured to direct light reflected by the driver's eye to the image sensor, and wherein a distance between the second illumination source and an optical axis of the lens is larger than a distance between the first illumination source and the optical axis. Further, a method for monitoring a vehicle driver's eye gaze with an optical system is disclosed.
