A steering column device includes an inner tube, a housing, and a lock mechanism configured. The lock mechanism includes a first engagement member, a second engagement member, a first urging member, a second urging member, a cam member configured to rotate about a rotation axis extending in a direction in which the first urging member and the second urging member are arranged such that the second urging member serving as a follower is moved in the direction in which the first urging member and the second urging member are arranged to change a magnitude relationship between an urging force of the first urging member and an urging force of the second urging member, and an operation lever configured to operate the cam member.

Grounded, circular movable electrode and divided electrodes, formed on a surface of a circular printed board, are opposed to each other via a double-face tape, functioning also as a spacer, with a slight gap interposed therebetween. As a pad is struck with a stick, the gap between the movable electrode and the divided electrodes changes so that capacitance between the movable electrode and the divided electrodes changes, in response to which signals are output from the divided electrodes. The divided electrodes are sandwiched between the grounded movable electrode and a grounded shielded electrode and thus are not influenced from external disturbances. As the pad is struck with the stick, the gap and hence capacitance between the movable electrode and any of the divided electrodes in the struck position changes, in response to which signals are output from the divided electrodes

Pressure sensor and data input apparatus

An electronic percussion instrument includes a pad section and a rim section provided about the pad section. A pad sensor is provided in the pad section to output a signal in response to a force applied to the pad section. A rim sensor is provided in the rim section to detect a signal corresponding to a force applied to the rim section, for example, to detect the presence or the absence of a pressure force applied to the rim section. The electronic percussion instrument includes a tone generation control device that provides unique control over the generation of tones. When a tone is generated based on a signal representative of a beat force applied to the pad sensor, the tone color of the tone is selected based on the presence or the absence of a pressure force applied to the rim sensor.

There are provided a plurality of keys for designating a pitch and a plurality of sensors for detecting operating states of the keys. Main pitch determination section identifies respective ON/OFF states of the keys on the basis of output values from the sensors to thereby determines a performed pitch. When the output value from the sensor, corresponding to a particular one of the keys determined to be in the ON or OFF state, presents a predetermined intermediate value, a subsidiary pitch determination section determines another pitch on the basis of predetermined assumptive ON/OFF states of the keys. The assumptive ON/OFF states are similar to the ON/OFF states of the keys identified by the main pitch determination section except that the ON or OFF state of the particular key is inverted to the OFF or ON state. Pitch-bend information designating an intermediate pitch between the other pitch and the pitch determined by the main pitch determination section is generated, such as by interpolation, on the basis of the sensor output presenting the predetermined intermediate value. On the basis of the sensor output corresponding to the predetermined turned-ON key, a tone control signal can be generated to execute after-touch control. Any one of functions allocated to a predetermined key, such as a high trill key, may be selectively used depending on a selected mode.

Electronic wind instrument capable of diversified performance expression

A woodwind-styled electronic musical instrument comprises an instrument body of an elongated rod shape provided with a plurality of manipulating note keys arranged thereon for designating musical notes to be played, and a mouthpiece arranged at the top end of the instrument body and including a lip sensor for detecting a bite condition of the player. Musical tones are produced according to the designation by the note keys and to the bite condition. On the front surface of the instrument body in the slope area near the top end thereof are arranged a first and second LED'S. In a tight-lip control condition, the bite condition is detected to be neutral level when the lip sensor detects a middle extent of the bite degree, while in a loose-lip control condition, the bite condition is detected to be neutral level when the lip sensor detects a substantially zero extent of the bite degree. In either control condition, the first LED is not lit at and near the neutral level, and is lit neither at nor near the neutral level. The second LED is lit when the breath pressure is good for the tone production.

An automatic performance apparatus provides a performance data memory including plural storing areas each capable of storing different performance data independently. The performance data can be selectively written in and read from each storing area. Based on the performance data read from each storing area, a musical tone signal for an automatic performance is generated independently. When the performance data memory includes two storing areas, the performance data concerning two tunes or two parts can be stored. One of two automatic performances based on the performance data can be selectively played. In addition, two automatic performances can be also player simultaneouly, wherein a predetermined delay time can be provided between two automatic performances. Further, predetermined kinds of rhythm patterns are pre-stored in a rhythm pattern memory in order to perform the desirable rhythm pattern as an accompaniment of the automatic performance.

An electronic musical instrument includes a keyboard, a first tone generator, a second tone generator, a hold switch, and a control unit. The keyboard designates a pitch of a musical tone to be generated. The first tone generator generates a first musical tone signal corresponding to the pitch designated by the keyboard. The second tone generator generates a second musical tone signal corresponding to the pitch designated by the keyboard. The hold switch generates a pitch hold command. When the pitch hold command is generated, the control unit inhibits a pitch change in the second musical tone signal generated by the second tone generator to hold a predetermined pitch.
