Systems and methods of providing information via a computer network responsive to a request are provided. Keyword terms including a content keyword and a geographic location operator can be received via a computer network. A geographically modified keyword can be determined from the keyword terms. The geographically modified keyword indicates a product or service, and indicates a geographic location associated with the geographic location operator. A search query can be received from a user interface of a computing device, and a geographic location term in the search query can be identified. A geographic location term in a search query can be matched with the geographically modified keyword, with the geographic location term being a variant of the geographic location operator. Content can be obtained and provided from a data processing system to the user interface via the computer network, for display at the user interface.

Location based content matching in a computer network

Configurations for geographical targeting for managing content of campaigns are disclosed. In one example, the subject technology provides a user interface including controls for enabling selection of targeting criteria by a content sponsor. The user interface includes a campaign tool for receiving input on campaign details to be executed by a content delivery system. The campaign tool includes a search control for receiving search strings and responsive thereto providing search completions that represent one or more geographic areas and reach information for each geographic area. The campaign tool also includes a control for adding a geographic area to a campaign, excluding the geographic area from the campaign, or presenting a map of the geographic area.

Geographical targeting for content management of campaigns

Configurations for targeting nearby geographic locations for managing content are disclosed. The subject technology identifies one or more geographic locations for targeting content from a campaign for delivery to users and the campaign associated with a content sponsor. One or more geographic locations that are nearby the one or more geographic locations associated with the campaign are automatically presented to the content sponsor, including presenting candidate nearby geographic locations and estimated reach information along with each candidate geographic location. The subject technology receives a selection of one or more candidate geographic locations for inclusion in the campaign, and adds the selection to the campaign.

Targeting nearby geographic locations associated with a campaign

A computer-implemented method managing telephonic connections is disclosed. The method includes transmitting from a computer server system, for display on an electronic communication device, an advertisement from an advertiser; receiving from the electronic communication device a request to be connected telephonically with the advertiser; automatically playing a predetermined audio message after connecting telephonically with the advertiser; and connecting the electronic communication device telephonically with the advertiser after playing the predetermined audio message.

Local advertising responses

Custom ad content and ad contact information are identified, for example, received from an advertiser. Input is received selecting to include at least a portion of the ad contact information as unified ad contact information within a print ad including the custom ad content. Further input is received selecting to activate one or more tracking mechanisms associated with the portion of ad contact information. The print ad including the custom ad content and the portion of ad contact information is provided to a publisher. An effectiveness of the ad contact information included in the portion is tracked. The effectiveness of the print ad is reported.

Tracking response to advertisements

Described are example processes for providing content based on a size of a geographic area associated with the content. The example processes may include the following operations: determining, based at least in part on bids provided in an auction, candidate content items for output in response to an input query; obtaining geographic areas associated with the candidate content items; selecting a candidate content item having a smallest geographic area; and outputting the selected candidate content item in response to the input query.

Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer-readable storage medium, for campaign management. A method includes: presenting a user interface to a sponsor for customizing targeting information for a campaign including a control for specifying targeting criteria, where at least one targeting criterion includes a presence of a user in a prescribed geographic location or an indication of an interest by a user in the location; receiving a selection from the sponsor of targeting criteria to be associated with the campaign including a selection of one or both of user presence and interest; evaluating content delivery options for presenting content associated with the campaign including determining for a given content request whether a user is present or merely interested in a geographic location; and serving content from the campaign when a content item request satisfies the targeting criteria for the campaign.
