Hearing prosthesis sleeve

Embodiments presented herein are generally directed to a protective sleeve for an external component of a hearing prosthesis. The protective sleeve comprises a base plug configured to be inserted into a main body. The main body and base plug are each primarily formed from a substantially flexible material and each comprises one or more substantially rigid members. When the base plug is inserted into the main body the substantially rigid members operate to deform a portion of substantially flexible material forming part of the main body or base plug to seal the base plug to the main body.

An In-The-Ear (ITE) device is disclosed. This ITE is adapted for connection to a cable from a Behind-The-Ear (BTE) device, the ITE device including a releasable mechanical retention device for the cable, such that the cable may be customized in length and may be attached to the retention device.

Cable length adjustment in auditory devices

An implantable device having an impact side likely to receive forces applied to the device is disclosed, the device comprising: a hermetically-sealed container including, a chassis having secure thereto at least one functional component, a first shell hermetically connected to the chassis to form a hermetic enclosure in which the at least one functional component is located, at least on feedthrough disposed in one or more of either the chassis and the first shell, configured to permit at least one input/output line to infiltrate the hermetic enclosure; and a second shell connected to the container so as to be spaced from and adjacent to the container to define the impact side of the device and to form with the container a non-hermetic enclosure.
