A light assembly for a tailgate of a vehicle, including a housing, and a light source. The housing is pivotally coupled to the tailgate for movement of the housing between a use positon and a stowed position. The light source is coupled to the housing. In the use position the light source is positioned outside of the tailgate. In the stowed position the light source is positioned within the tailgate.

Retractable vehicle light assemblies for tailgates

A lighting system for a vehicle can include a sideview mirror assembly mountable to an exterior of the vehicle over a ground area near the vehicle. The lighting system can also include a service lamp integrated with the sideview mirror assembly. The service lamp can be configured to project one or more narrow beams of light to illuminate one or more jack placement indicator spots on the ground area. The service lamp can also be configured to project one or more broad beams of light to illuminate the ground area and/or one or more wheels of the vehicle.

Vehicular lighting system

A duct system, and more particularly, a rigid endcap of the duct system can be configured to prevent a register from being damaged and from being displaced upon a curtain side airbag deployment. The duct system can include a headliner defining an opening, and a soft duct operatively connected to the headliner. The duct system can include a rigid endcap operatively connected to the headliner and to the soft duct. An airflow channel can be defined by the headliner, the soft duct, and the rigid endcap. Additionally, the rigid endcap can define a terminal end of the airflow channel, and the opening can be located along the airflow channel directly below the rigid endcap.

A sensor for measuring displacement and time comprises a hollow body including a longitudinal axis. The hollow body comprises a wall including an inner surface and an outer surface, and a pathway defined by the inner surface. The sensor further comprises a solid body including an outer surface, the solid body configured to be received by the hollow body and travel through the pathway. The sensor further comprises a plurality of frangible wires, where each wire of the plurality of wires extends through a first opening in the wall, across the pathway, and through a second opening in the wall, and each wire is spaced apart by a distance in a direction generally parallel to the longitudinal axis of the hollow body.

Systems and methods for determining measurement characteristics of an object with a time displacement sensor

A vehicle tailgate can be being pivotally attached to a cargo area of the vehicle with a gap being defined between an edge of the tailgate and an end of the floor of the cargo area. Embodiments disclosed herein relate to a tailgate gap cover that can protect the gap between a tailgate and a vehicle cargo floor. In one embodiment, the disclosed cover includes a cover member having a first edge pivotally attached to the tailgate such that a second edge opposite the first edge rests on cargo area floor beyond the gap when the tailgate is in a raised position or a lowered position.
