Systems and methods for providing supplemental information with a response to a command are provided herein. In some embodiments, audio data representing a spoken command may be received by a cloud-based information system. A response to the command may be retrieved from a category related to the context of the command. A supplemental information database may also be provided that is pre-populated with supplemental information related to an individual having a registered account on the cloud-based information system. In response to retrieving the response to the command, supplemental information may be selected from the supplemental information database to be appended to the response to the command. A message may then be generated including the response and the supplemental information appended thereto, which in turn may be converted into audio data representing the message, which may be sent to a voice-controlled electronic device of the individual.

Systems and methods for providing supplemental information with a response to a command

A system incorporating configurable keywords. The system can detect a keyword in audio data and execute one function for the keyword if a first application is operating, but a second function for the keyword if a second function is operating. Each keyword may be associated with multiple different functions. If a keyword is recognized during keyword detection, a function associated with that keyword is determined based on another application running on the system. Thus detection of a same keyword may result in a different function based on system context.

Context configurable keywords

Described are techniques for establishing communications sessions between devices. A command from a sender device to initiate a communications session with a recipient device may include information indicative of a recipient user profile. Correspondence between recipient information and sender contact data may be used to determine the recipient user profile. Prior to providing a communication request to the recipient device, recipient contact data may be determined using the recipient user profile. Correspondence between the sender user profile and the recipient contact data may be used to determine sender information indicative of the sender. This information may be provided to the recipient device in advance of the communication request to enable more rapid acceptance of the communication request and eliminate the delay that would be incurred if the recipient device determined the sender information responsive to the communication request.

Reducing latency associated with communications

Described are techniques for establishing video communication between devices while reducing delays associated with initialization of a camera system. When a command from a sender device to initiate a communications session with a recipient device is received, the command may include recipient information indicative of the recipient device. Correspondence between the recipient information and sender contact data may be used determine a recipient profile identifier. Prior to providing a communication request to the recipient device, an initialization command may be provided to the recipient device to cause the recipient device to begin initializing a camera system. Providing the initialization command to the recipient device responsive to the command from the sender device, in advance of the communication request, enables the communications session to be initiated more rapidly than if the recipient device began to initialize the camera system responsive to the communication request.

Initializing device components associated with communications

Images to be projected onto a projection surface are modified prior to projection based on color values sampled from the projection surface. A camera samples color values from the projection surface and a processor generates a modified source image based at least in part on pixel color values in an original source image and the color values sampled from the projection surface. A projector then projects the modified source image onto the projection surface.

Image correction based on projection surface color

A source image to be projected onto a projection surface is transformed based on a three-dimensional representation of the projection surface to create a modified source image. When the modified source image is projected onto the projection surface, a resulting display image is less distorted as compared to the original source image than a resulting display image would be if the original source image were projected onto the projection surface.
