A building automation system may include a memory for storing a first geofence for a first building component and a second geofence for a second building component. A controller may be operably coupled to the memory and may be configured to cause an adjustment to operation of the first building component in response to a user's mobile device crossing the first geofence and may cause an adjustment to operation of the second building component in response to the user's mobile device crossing the second geofence. The controller may be configured to receive one or more current conditions and to adapt a size of the first geofence and/or a size of the second geofence based on the received one or more current conditions.

The inventive system and method for processing transactional data in a point of sale environment that has a video device, a POS terminal and an end recording device comprises a configuration tool, and a filtering unit having a filter comprising subfilters for filtering transactional data, such that the configuration tool creates the filter. In the alternative, the system also has at least one pre-defined set of rules accessible through a web interface, such that the configuration tool uses one of the pre-defined sets of rules to create the filter.

A method and apparatus for detecting behavioral changes in a security system is provided. The method includes the steps of providing a secured area having a plurality of security zones where access to each is controlled by an access controller, detecting entrances to at least some of the plurality of security zones by an authorized person through respective access controllers of the plurality of zones over a predetermined previous time period, forming a probability model of entry into each of the plurality of security zones from the detected entrances over the previous time period, detecting access requests for the authorized user from the access controllers during a current time period, and generating a security alert upon determining that an access request of the current access requests exceeds a probability threshold value associated with the probability model.

Access control system based upon behavioral patterns

A method and apparatus are provided for controlling access to a secure area. The method includes the steps of providing a plurality of user credentials, generating a Boolean equation based upon the plurality of user credentials where the generated Boolean equation provides a predetermined response to each user credential of the plurality of credentials, saving the generated Boolean equation in a memory in place of the user credentials and recognizing a user credential of the plurality of user credentials by reference to the Boolean equation.
