Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that provide for multicast communications that originate at a wide area network (WAN) using a first RAT to be provided to a local area network (LAN) that uses a second RAT that is used to complete the multicast communications to a user equipment (UE). A scheduler of the second RAT may use one or more parameters associated with the multicast communications to prioritize transmission of the multicast data to one or more UEs. The scheduler of the second RAT may prioritize the multicast communications with other communications of the second RAT based on one or more of a number of clients served, a quality of service (QoS) or bandwidth of the multicast communications, a capability of the UEs, one or more other data flows, a feedback scheme associated with the multicast communications, or any combinations thereof.

A wireless communication device receives one or more radio link control (RLC) packet data units (PDUs) of a sequence of RLC PDUs. The wireless communication device determines missing RLC data PDUs in the sequence of RLC PDUs based on the received one or more RLC PDUs. The wireless communication device receives a first uplink (UL) grant. The wireless communication device transmits a first RLC status report including an indication of a first subset of the missing RLC PDUs less than all the missing RLC PDUs, the indication of the first subset of missing PDUs being based on a size of the first UL grant. The wireless communication device modifies a RLC status prohibit timer based on the transmitted first RLC status report indicating less than all the missing RLC PDUs.

In one aspect of the disclosure, a user equipment (UE) is configured to manage a state variable (associated with a radio link control (RLC) entity or a packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) entity) that enables the UE to maintain synchronization with a base station during a communication session. For example, a base station may transmit, to the UE, a control PDU or a synchronization PDU that includes a value of a state variable maintained by a base station to enable the UE to update its state variable to maintain synchronization with the base station. Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may identify a throttling indicator for a shared resource associated with a modem at the UE. The CE may determine a configuration of the modem based on a configuration received from a Radio Resource Control layer of the UE. Based on the modem configuration and the throttling indicator, the UE may identify a throttling level to apply to the modem. The UE may adjust the modem configuration for communicating with a base station based on the throttling level in order to reduce resource usage below a usage threshold. By reducing usage of the shared resource by the modem, the UE may have a greater availability of the shared resource to meet the needs of other components of the UE. This may provide an improved user experience at the UE, among other benefits.

This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatuses for using a media access control (MAC) control element (CE) for dynamic RLC entities selection. In one aspect, a base station (BS) may generate and transmit the control message to a user equipment (UE) to identify active radio link control (RLC) entities, a primary RLC entity, or other parameters relating to packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) duplication-based communication. In this case, the UE may use the control message to select an RLC entity and may transmit protocol data units (PDUs) to the BS using a data radio bearer (DRB) and the selected RLC entity.

Generally, the described techniques provide for a user equipment (UE) to adaptively transition between modes of an adaptive receive diversity (ARD) antenna management configuration. In some cases, the UE may determine to transition from an ARD disallowed mode to an ARD standby mode in response to receiving a burst of downlink grants. The UE may dynamically update one or more criterion for transitioning between the ARD disallowed mode and the ARD standby mode according to a pattern of received downlink grants. For example, the UE may adjust a threshold quantity of downlink grants which constitutes a burst based on a downlink scheduling rate (DSR) of one or more prior ARD standby durations. In some cases, the UE may identify a fallback condition to transition from the ARD standby mode to the ARD disallowed mode.

A UE may include one or more application processors and a modem processor. The modem processor may include flow priority engine configured to receive, from the one or more application processors, requests for determining priority treatment of one or more packet filters of one or more uplink transmissions and transmit the one or more uplink transmissions to a base station based on priorities of the one or more uplink transmissions.
