A swivel type working vehicle having a turntable ( ) with a rear hood ( ) covering an engine ( ) and a side hood ( ) covering hydraulic equipment. The rear hood ( ) includes a pivot device ( ) disposed in an upper front end region thereof and having a pivot axis extending transversely of a vehicle body. The rear hood is pivotable by the pivot device between a closed position covering the engine and an open position exposing the engine. The side hood ( ) includes a pivot mechanism ( ) disposed in a lower front end region thereof and having a pivot axis extending transversely of the vehicle body. The side hood being pivotable by the pivot mechanism between a closed position covering the hydraulic equipment and an open position exposing the hydraulic equipment.

Swivel type working vehicle

A propelling apparatus includes a plurality of propellant cylinders series-connected to each other to be propelled by receiving a pushing force from behind, joints for series-connecting the propellant cylinders, a propellant head connected to a forward-most end of the propellant cylinders to be pressed into the earth, a leader member constituting a leading end of the propellant head, the leader member being rotatable about an axis of the propellant head by receiving a driving force from a driving device. An inclined pressure-receiving face is formed at a forward portion of the leader member for receiving an earth pressure in association with the underground propelling movement of the propellant head and steering the propellant head toward the direction of application of the earth pressure to the pressure-receiving face. The joint includes a flexible joint which is pivotally flexible about a transverse axis extending normal to an axis of the propellant cylinder.

Propelling apparatus for underground propelling construction work

An underground propelling method uses a propellant apparatus including a propellant head having a pressure receiving face portion inclined relative to an axis of the head and a plurality of propellant cylinders flexibly and pivotally connected in series to a rear end of the propellant head. The propellant apparatus is propelled under the ground by applying a thrust to the propellant apparatus from behind. Each propellant cylinder of the apparatus is pivotal about a single pivot axis thereof alone. The apparatus is propelled with the pressure receiving face portion thereof being oriented along a pivotal direction of the propellant cylinder about the pivot axis.

Underground propelling method

A crosswise controllable pilot valve for generating a pilot pressure corresponding to an amount of operation of a control lever. This valve has a spool reciprocable within a valve case between a pilot pressure supplying position for interconnecting a pump port and a supply and exhaust port, and an exhaust position for interconnecting a tank port and the supply and exhaust port, and a push rod movable in a first direction within the valve case to move the spool to the supplying position. The push rod includes a cylindrical skirt portion adjacent one end thereof having sliding surfaces for sliding relative to the valve case, and a rod portion adjacent the other end. The skirt portion, rod portion and valve case define a first space, while the skirt portion, spool and valve case define a second space. The first space and second space communicate with each other through oil passages for permitting escape of oil from the first space to the second space or from the second space to the first space during movement of the push rod.

Hydraulic pilot valve

A hydraulic piping structure for controlling a boom assembly supported through a swing bracket by a swivel deck of a backhoe. The piping structure includes a plurality of hydraulic hoses for supplying oil from a pressure source mounted on the swivel deck to hydrauylic cylinders for controlling a boom and other components of the boom assembly. These hoses are arranged parallel on an upper face of the boom, with hoses connected to a boom cylinder being curved on a vertical plane. The parallel boses extend to the swivel deck through an interior space of the swing bracket and are fixed in position by a clamp mechanism therein. On the swivel deck, these hoses are separated into two batches and fixed in position by further clamp mechanisms, respectively.
