Disclosed is a vehicle capable of performing digital key authentication more smoothly. The vehicle includes a reader provided to perform communication with a digital key through near field communication (NFC), and a controller configured to perform a preset function of the vehicle based on a success of a transaction with the digital key through the reader, wherein the reader operates in a first mode of detecting the presence of the digital key based on the success of the transaction, and does not start the transaction even when the digital key is detected while operating in the first mode.

A vehicle includes: at least one memory configured to store at least one default Instruction Structure Key (ISK), a generated ISK, and a pin code of the vehicle; and at least one processor. The at least one default ISK may include a first default ISK and a second default ISK. The processor may generate a random number using the first default ISK, receive the second default ISK encrypted with the generated ISK generated based on the pin code, and determine the generated ISK as an encryption key for encryption communication of the vehicle when the generated random number and the random number corresponding to the second default ISK are the same.

A vehicle includes a low frequency (LF) transmitter, a high frequency receiver, and a control unit. The low frequency (LF) transmitter may be configured to transmit a LF signal in order to search for a remote control device. The high frequency receiver may be configured to receive a signal having a predetermined frequency band which is greater than a frequency band of the LF signal transmitted by the LF transmitter. The control unit may be configured to determine that a relay attack is generated when the signal received by the high frequency receiver is a modulated LF signal.

In particular, the controller compares a unique value of the remote control device contained in the data with the unique value of the vehicle stored in the storage, and determines whether a user command contained in the data is approved based on a result of the comparison.

A smart key for a vehicle includes: a communication unit including a low frequency (LF) antenna which receives an LF signal; and a control unit determining a strength and a direction vector of the LF signal. The control unit estimates a first location of the smart key based on the strength of the LF signal, estimates a second location of the smart key based on the direction vector of the LF signal, and determines a presence of a relay attack by analyzing the first location and the second location and comparing the first location with the second location.

A vehicle includes: a Low Frequency (LF) communication unit transmitting an authentication request signal to a smart key through an LF communication network; a Radio Frequency (RF) communication unit receiving an authentication response signal from the smart key through an RF communication network; and a controller measuring an authentication response time period based on a time at which the authentication request signal is transmitted and a time at which the authentication response signal is received and determining whether authentication with the smart key is successful based on the authentication response time period.
