A multicast broadcast service controller is disclosed. The MBSC processes multicast broadcast data streams for transmission to access service network gateways or base stations. The MBSC includes a MBSC core processor for establishing time synchronization information used by the access service network gateways or base stations to synchronously transmit data streams. The MBSC core processor selects streams for transmission in a time diversity interval (TDI) and builds multicast broadcast (MBS) region content based on the selected streams and configuration information. The MBS region content includes timing synchronization information, resource information and MBS region content location information. A MBS region distribution module (MRD) transmits the MBS region content to the access service network gateways or base stations.

Method and apparatus for processing a multicast broadcast data stream

The subject matter disclosed herein provides methods and apparatus for providing MBS (multicast broadcast service) with outer coding and adjusted frame reference indexing. In one aspect, there is provided a method. The method includes receiving data packets from a network, dividing the data packets into one or more data streams, applying outer encoding on the one or more data streams and providing the one or more encoded data streams to an air interface for transmission to a user equipment over a wireless communication system.

MBS with outer coding and adjusted frame reference

The subject matter disclosed herein provides a network entry and recovery mechanism using a map. In one aspect, there is provided a method. The method may insert a plurality of packets into a plurality of data regions. A map may be inserted into one of the data regions. The map may include information to enable decoding of the plurality of data regions, a location of other maps within the plurality of data regions, and a size of the map. The plurality of data regions may be provided to enable the plurality of data regions to be transmitted to one or more client stations. Related systems, apparatus, methods, and/or articles are also described.

Network entry and recovery

The subject matter disclosed herein provides an outer coding framework for minimizing the error rate of packets. In one aspect, the method may include determining, based on a cyclic redundancy check, a first erasure table including zero or more erasures; determining a second erasure table; using the first erasure table to locate errors in a frame of packets, when the zero or more erasures of the first erasure table do not exceed a threshold of erasures; and using the second erasure table to locate errors in the frame of packets, when the one or more erasures of the first erasure table do exceed the threshold of erasures. The frame may include the one or more rows encoded using the outer code. The block that is read may be provided to enable an inner code to encode the block before transmission. Outer coding framework

Methods, apparatus and systems for generating and synchronizing a macro-diversity region transmitted by base stations in a network includes a receiving module configured to receive a plurality of packets of content data. A controller module coupled to the receiving module and configured to generate a macro-diversity region data that includes at least one packet of the plurality of packets of content data, and to generate a time reference and frame offset information to indicate an offset from the time reference and to further identify a second base station transmission frame that will include the second macro-diversity region data. A communication module to communicate a macro-diversity region message that includes the macro-diversity region data and the macro-diversity region control information to a plurality of base stations, configured to synchronize the transmission of the macro-diversity region data at the plurality of base stations.

Base station synchronization for a single frequency network

Allocations for access in a wireless system may be tiled onto a subframe having a first dimension and a second dimension. In an exemplary embodiment, allocations are distributed along the first dimension while the second dimension is locked, and the allocations are distributed along the second dimension while the first dimension is locked. In another exemplary embodiment, allocations are striped by extending a length of a first allocation along the first dimension and by expanding a breadth of the first allocation along the second dimension responsive to a size of the first allocation and by extending a length of a second allocation along the second dimension and expanding a breadth of the second allocation along the first dimension responsive to a size of the second allocation. In yet another exemplary embodiment, multiple allocations are placed proximately to an allocation placement target and allocation-free areas are produced on a subframe.

Tiling allocations for wireless communication

A method, apparatuses, and system of broadcasting content data in a macro-diversity region of a data frame includes receiving a stream of transport packets. Selecting at least one burst size, from amongst a set of a plurality of predetermined burst sizes. Allocating one or more data bursts with the selected burst size to the macro-diversity region of the data frame, each data burst comprising at least a portion of the received transport packets and wherein the at least one burst size is selected so as to minimize a number of data bursts allocated to the macro-diversity region. Then communicating the allocation of data bursts to a transmitter that includes the allocation of data bursts in the macro-diversity region of a data frame transmitted by the transmitter.

Method and apparatus for a scheduler for a macro-diversity portion of a transmission

A system including a buffer to receive and store a stream of content data. A controller module may be configured to determine the macro-diversity region size based on a set of pre-selected configuration parameters including an incoming rate of the content data and to allocate at least a portion of the content data to a macro-diversity region, to monitor an amount of the content data in the buffer in accordance with the set of pre-selected configuration parameters including an incoming rate of the content data to determine whether the amount of content data falls into or out of a target range defined by a low-end value and a high-end value and to adjust the size of the macro-diversity region by one or more increments in response to changes in the amount of the content data in accordance with the target range.
