A storage method comprises storing a retry table; wherein the retry table recites a plurality of error type patterns, the error type patterns comprises a plurality of default error types; accessing data stored in the flash memory; wherein an access error caused when a control circuit reads the data, the control circuit reads the retry table and performs testing according to the error type patterns sequentially to determine a current error type of the access error, and the control circuit performs an adjusted accessing action according to the current error type.

A managing method for a cache memory of a solid state drive includes the following steps. When the solid state drive decides to perform a garbage collection, a storing space of the cache memory is divided into plural storing portions according to at least one of the command type of an access command, access data size of the access command and the drive free space. A first storing portion of the cache memory is set as a buffering unit for a garbage collecting purpose. A second storing portion of the cache memory is set as a buffering unit for a writing purpose.

Managing method for cache memory of solid state drive

An electronic device with a solid state drive and associated control method are provided. The electronic device includes: a host; a power supply component, for providing electric power to the host and the solid state drive; and the solid state drive including a control unit electrically connected to the host through a bus, a cache memory electrically connected to the control component, and a flash memory electrically connected to the control component. When a remaining power of the power supply component decreases to a threshold value, the host controls the solid state drive to enter a data secure mode and disables the cache memory; and when the remaining power of the power supply component is above the threshold value, the host controls the solid state drive to enter a high performance mode and enables the cache memory.
