A battery cell pack includes a battery cell having first and second terminals and a gas vent on a bottom side of the battery cell; a frame on the bottom side of the battery cell, the frame including: a frame plate including first and second openings aligned with the first and second terminals and a third opening aligned with the gas vent, and first and second intermediate frame walls extending perpendicular to the frame plate; and a thermal protection plate extending between the intermediate frame walls, wherein the intermediate frame walls and the thermal protection plate form a channel along a length of the bottom side of the battery cell between the terminals. The present disclosure further relates to a battery pack including a plurality of battery cell packs and an electric vehicle including a battery pack.

Battery cell pack for electric vehicle

A bottom structure for an electric vehicle including at least a first and second beam-shaped battery modules extending in a length direction. Each module is formed by a number interconnected cells and has two longitudinal sides, two transverse sides and a top side covered by a cover plate. The modules are mutually interconnected along their longitudinal sides via an adhesive.

The temperature management system includes at least one energy storage module, a carrier element and a cooling element. The carrier element is arranged between the second surface of the cooling element and the energy storage module and configured to transfer heat from the energy storage module in direction to the environment. The cooling element includes at least one humidity absorbent material to increase a heat capacity of the cooling element.

Method for mounting a battery system to a chassis of an electric vehicle

The disclosure relates to a temperature management system for an energy system of a motor vehicle. The temperature management system includes an energy storage system, a conductivity element, and an ambient interface. The ambient interface includes a first surface directed to an environment of the energy system and a second surface opposite to the first surface. The conductivity element is arranged between the second surface of the ambient interface and the energy storage system. The conductivity element is switchable between an isolating mode with a first lower thermal conductivity and a conductive mode with a second higher thermal conductivity. The conductivity element includes a voltage sensitive material. The voltage sensitive material is switchable between the first and the second thermal conductivity depending on an applied voltage. The voltage sensitive material includes a piezoelectric material.

Temperature management system for an energy system of a motor vehicle

A method for controlling cooling of a traction battery in an electric vehicle where the method comprises determining a battery temperature profile for a segment of a planned route based on route information describing a route from a starting point to a destination and based on a current battery status and determining a battery cooling profile for the segment of the route based on the battery temperature profile. By means of the route information and the state of the battery, the battery cooling profile can be determined in order to minimize the power required for cooling the battery. Since the route information can provide information relating to a range of parameters which influence the power consumption along the route, the cooling needs of the battery can also be estimated for the route as a whole.
