An agricultural machine includes a turn generation system that identifies a turn start point and turn end point that indicate the starting point and ending point, respectively, of a turn that the agricultural machine will make to transition from a current pass to a subsequent pass. The guidance system identifies a turn contour and projects that contour onto a headland area of the field. The turn generation system generates a turn path based upon the turn starting and ending points and the turn path contour.

Automatically generating turns on an agricultural work machine based upon field geometry

Systems and methods are provided for guidance and/or automation of work vehicles operating within defined work areas. Initially, a first (e.g., figure eight) turn type is selected at least to transition between first and second parallel paths across the work area for reciprocal traverse thereof, further for optimizing a footprint with respect to at least an alternative second (e.g., U-turn) turn type. Responsive to said selection, a first turn plan is generated along with associated output signals for the first turn type relative to contours of the defined work area. Sequence points for the turn may be generated based on determined work coverage. If the work vehicle is determined unable to complete the generated first turn plan for the first turn type, based on detected work vehicle conditions relative to contours of the work area, a second turn plan is instead automatically generated and performed for the second turn type.

Work vehicle guidance and/or automation of turns with respect to a defined work area

Methods, apparatus, and articles of manufacture to generate a turn path for a vehicle are disclosed. An example apparatus disclosed herein includes input interface circuitry to obtain a guidance path for a vehicle, turn identification circuitry to identify a turn in the guidance path, and turn pattern selection circuitry to select, from a plurality of predetermined turn patterns, a turn pattern for the turn, wherein the turn pattern satisfies a condition.

Methods, apparatus, and articles of manufacture to generate a turn path for a vehicle

Methods, apparatus, and articles of manufacture to generate acquisition paths are disclosed. An example apparatus includes input interface circuitry to obtain input data associated with a vehicle, threshold calculation circuitry to calculate, based on the input data, a threshold curvature and a threshold curvature rate of the vehicle, and acquisition path generation circuitry to select a point on a target path of the vehicle, generate an acquisition path from a current position of the vehicle to the point, the acquisition path including at least two curves, and cause storage of the acquisition path in response to the at least two curves satisfying the threshold curvature and the threshold curvature rate.
