Providing a first radio beam and a second radio beam

Certain examples of the present invention relate to carrier management in a wireless communication network. Certain examples provide a User Equipment, UE, comprising: means for receiving, following a maximum permissible exposure, MPE, event occurring during operation over a first carrier such that the UE is no longer operating over the first carrier, a first signal, over a second carrier, for configuring the UE to determine a status of the MPE event associated with the previously used first carrier; means for determining, responsive to receipt of the first signal, a current status of the MPE event associated with the previously used first carrier; and means for transmitting, responsive to receipt of the first signal, a second signal over the second carrier, wherein the second signal comprises an indication of the current status of the MPE event associated with the previously used first carrier.

Carrier management in a wireless communication network

An apparatus including: circuitry for receiving reference signals including a plurality of channel synchronization signal blocks and/or state information reference signals on a downlink channel; circuitry for measuring received signal power and/or quality level of said reference signals; circuitry for estimating arrival directions or an arrival antenna panel for a plurality of beams associated with said reference signals; circuitry for estimating, based on at least the received signal power and/or quality level, a required transmission power for a random access channel preamble for each beam; circuitry for selecting, in response to detecting a failure of a serving beam, another of said beams according to spatial diversity and/or required transmission power; and circuitry for sending the random access channel preamble on the selected beam.

Method for beam recovery based on spatial diversity or transmission power

In one embodiment, an apparatus performs receiving, via two different signal pathways, at least two different signals that are associated with different radio wave characteristics; changing the frequency of signal(s) to provide intermediate signal(s) with each having different frequencies; multiplexing the intermediate signals to allow signals to be transmitted together via a single wired connection; receiving a multiplexed signal via the single wired connection, the multiplexed signal including intermediate further signals having different frequencies, the intermediate further signals also being associated with differing radio wave characteristics; and separating the intermediate further signals into separate signals; changing the frequency of the further signals to provide further signals at a transmission frequency; and transmitting the further signals via the two signal pathways.

Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to methods, devices and computer readable media for adaptive configuration of multistatic harmonic tag backscatter. A network device transmits, to an illuminator for a passive tag, a request for transmitting an activation signal to a passive tag at a primary frequency and a first transmission power. The network device receives, from the illuminator, information about a harmonic frequency of a harmonic of the activation signal back-scattered from the passive tag, a received level of the harmonic and a distance between the illuminator and the passive tag. The network device selects at least one reader for the passive tag. The network device configures the illuminator to transmit the activation signal to the passive tag at the primary frequency. The network device configures the at least one reader to receive the harmonic of the activation signal at the harmonic frequency.

An arrangement for determining a location of a base station by user equipment uses measurements of reference signals of a base station from different user equipment positions. The measurement results are preprocessed and then provided to a machine learning entity. The machine learning entity estimates the location of the base station and provides the estimated location for use in other functionality of the user equipment.

To facilitate positioning a user device, the user device is configured to measure, per an antenna array, reference signals received from transmission-reception points and to check, whether a downlink reference signal from a transmission-reception point is received in a serving antenna array and in one or more non-serving antenna arrays with a first delay. A non-serving antenna array receiving the signal with the first delay is an alternative antenna array to the serving antenna array. An apparatus for use by a UE configured to conduct a communication in a communication network. The apparatus is configured to receive and process signals from the communication network via signal receiving portions, wherein one of the signal receiving portions is a serving cell signal receiving portion used for connecting to the communication network via a serving cell, and another of the signal receiving portions is a non-serving cell signal receiving portion being not used for connecting to the communication network. A signal receiving portion specific offset value is obtained for each of the signal receiving portions. Signal quality values for signals received by the signal receiving portions from the communication network are measured, wherein the cells include the serving cell. A measurement report is sent to the communication network on the basis of the results of the signal quality measurements and the offset values for the signal receiving portions.
