A device for administering a fluid medicament by injection comprises a dosing portion () with a collapsible reservoir (). The reservoir () has a maximum volume in an extended state and a minimum volume in a collapsed state. Prior to injection, the reservoir () is in the extended state and contains a liquid to be administered, and the reservoir () is biased towards the collapsed state. The device further comprises a needle (), wherein a lumen () of the needle () is in fluid communication with the reservoir (). The device further comprises a shield portion () with a plug (). Prior to injection, the shield portion () is in a deployed position where the plug () blocks the lumen () of the needle (). The shield portion () is adapted to move in response to an actuation force from the deployed position to a retracted position where the lumen () of the needle () is open, thereby causing the reservoir () to shift to the collapsed state to expel the liquid through the needle.

Drug delivery device with a hydraulic trigger mechanism

Method of manufacturing prefilled drug delivery devices

The invention relates to a non-axial working End-of-Content mechanism which is geared by a hypocycloid gearing. The EoC mechanism comprises a first element () having a first internal surface () with a first internal diameter (D), and an EoC element () having a second external surface () with a second external diameter (d) being smaller that the first internal diameter (D). The EoC element () is located inside the first internal diameter (D) of the first element () and the first element () and the EoC element rotates relatively to each other in a gearing ratio. The EoC element () thus operating as the inner rolling circle of a hypocycloid counting the numbers of relative rotations. The EoC mechanism further has stopping means ()) provided for stopping the relative rotation in a predetermined position which position correlates to the initial injectable content of drug in the injection device such that a user cannot at any time set a dose larger than the quantum left in the injection device at any time.

Non-axial working end-of content mechanism and an injection device comprising the same

The invention relates to a torsion spring driven injection device having a dial-down mechanism for dialling down a selected dose size. The torsion spring () is strained when setting a dose by rotating a proximally located dose setting button() relatively to the housing in a first direction and unstained when rotating the same dose setting button () in a second direction opposite the first direction. In order to secure the torsion spring () in its strained position a one-way ratchet mechanism is provided. This one-way ratchet mechanism comprises a fixation element () coupled to the housing and having a toothing () and a ratchet element () having at least one ratchet arm () engaging the fixation element () and which ratchet element () is operational coupled to the dose setting button (). The dose setting button () directly engages the at least one ratchet arm () when the dose setting button () is rotated in the second direction which releases the at least one ratchet arm () from the toothing () of the fixation element () and allows the ratchet element () to rotate relatively to the fixation element () in the second direction under influence of the torsion spring ().

Dial-down mechanism for wind-up pen

The invention relates to a pen-shaped torsion spring driven injection device for apportioning set dose of a liquid drug. A piston rod having an external thread is driven forward by a rotatable piston rod guide engaging the piston rod. The piston rod guide is rotated by a torsion spring encompassed between the housing and the piston rod guide. A scale drum having a thread engaging the external thread of the piston rod is provided, and the scale drum is rotated up and down the piston rod by a proximal located rotatable dose setting member cooperating with the scale drum. The scale drum thus move helically when rotated as the piston rod is held inrotatable during dose setting.

Pen-shaped torsion spring driven injection device

The present invention relates to an injection device for automatic torsion spring driven injection of a liquid drug. The injection device is of the type wherein a telescopically movable needle shield activates the release of the torque of the torsion spring to drive the injection when the needle shield is moved from its extended position to a retracted position. The injection device further has a needle holder carrying the injection needle, which needle holder is axially movable both in relation to the housing and in relation to the needle shield. It is therefore possible to retract the needle shield in relation to the housing and at the same time move the needle holder to its extended position such that the injection needle is presented outside the needle shield thereby providing for easy exchange of the injection needle.

Spring driven injection device

The present invention relates to a torsion spring driven injection device for delivering multiple set doses of a liquid drug from a cartridge by moving a plunger forward inside the cartridge. The torsion spring () applies a rotational torque onto a drive member () engaging a piston rod () which is then driven forward by this rotation. The piston rod driver can be coupled and de-coupled from the torsion spring mechanism. In the de-coupled position, the piston rod driver is freely rotatable and can thus rotate if the piston rod is moved axially. A further torsion arrangement () is preferably provided such that a torque is build up between the piston rod driver and the housing whenever the piston rod is moved backwards. This torsion arrangement urges the piston rod driver to rotate in a direction bringing the piston rod forward into abutment with the plunger.

The present invention relates to a torsion spring based automatic injection device for apportioning set doses of a liquid drug and which injection device is provided with an End-of-Dose feedback mechanism providing a user with an audible signal once the set dose has been injected. During injection, the scale drum rotates back to its 'zero' position under influence of the torsion spring. This rotation is halted shortly before reaching the 'zero' position by stopping means. The scale drum is thereafter only allowed to continue rotation and thus reach the &#x201c;zero&#x201d; position once the torque applied to the scale drum by the torsion spring surpasses a threshold value.

Torsion spring injection device having an end-of-dose mechanism

The present invention relates to an injection device for automatic torsion spring driven injection of a liquid drug. The injection device is of the type wherein a telescopically movable needle shield () activates the release of the torque of the torsion spring to drive the injection when the needle shield is moved from its extended position to a retracted position. The injection device is provided with a needle interface () carrying the injection needle, which needle interface is provided with means () preventing axial movement of the shield when no injection needle is mounted. Further, other means are provided to restrain the needle shield in the retracted position when the injection device is its 'zero' position such that a user has access to the injection needle in order to exchange the injection needle.

Shield lock for spring driven injection device

The present invention relates to an injection device () having a mechanical dose size display wherein a first scale drum () carrying a series of first ciphers () and a second scale drum () carrying a series of second ciphers () are both rotatable able and axially moveable relatively to a housing () of the injection device in such a way that one of the first ciphers () and one of the a second ciphers () appears simultaneously in a window provided in the housing () thereby informing the user of the set dose. Both the first scale drum () and the second drum () preferable carries five ciphers () around one full circumferential perimeter. The ciphers () are provided in different circumferential circles and/or helically provided.
