The embodiments presented herein provide a device comprising a sensor assembly configured to sense physiological signals corresponding to physiological parameters of a user when in contact with the user, and to produce electrical signals representing the sensed physiological signals. The device may also comprise a converter assembly that is electrically connected to the sensor assembly, and is configured to convert the electrical signals to a modulated signal. The device may further comprise a transmitter that transmits the modulated signal wirelessly to a computing device. The device may include a housing that contains the sensor assembly, the converter assembly, and the transmitter.

Disclosed systems include mobile ECG sensors, systems and methods. Some embodiments provide ECG sensors in a credit card form factor that allows a user to contact two electrically isolated electrodes to measure heart electrical signals for a Lead I ECG.

An example implementation may involve driving an audio output module of a wearable device with a first audio signal and then receiving, via at least one microphone of wearable device, a second audio signal comprising first ambient noise. The device may determine that the first ambient noise is indicative of user speech and responsively duck the first audio signal. While the first audio signal is ducked, the device may detect, in a subsequent portion of the second audio signal, second ambient noise, and determine that the second ambient noise is indicative of ambient speech. Responsive to the determination that the second ambient noise is indicative of ambient speech, the device may continue the ducking of the first audio signal.

Disclosed are solid-state batteries having improved energy density and methods of manufacturing the solid-state batteries having improved energy density. In some embodiments, the solid-state battery may include a substrate of yttria-stabilized zirconia, a cathode current collector formed on the substrate, an anode current collector formed on the substrate, a cathode of lithium cobalt oxide in electrical contact with the cathode current collector, an anode of lithium in electrical contact with the anode current collector, and a solid-state electrolyte of lithium phosphorous oxynitride formed between the cathode and the anode.

Example embodiments include a lens having an IR-reflective coating that is selectively applied to form a variable infrared (IR) interaction pattern on the lens. The variable IR interaction pattern may vary in the manner it interacts with IR wavelengths, so as to provide a machine-readable code when the lens is illuminated by IR light. Accordingly, variable IR interaction patterns may be used to identify particular lenses. Accordingly, a glasses-style, modular, head-mountable device (HMD) may identify which of a number of different possible lenses are currently attached to the HIVID, and update certain processes according to the lens or lenses is or are attached. For example, an HIVID may calibrate an eye-tracking process according to the particular lens that is attached.

A display apparatus includes a transparent substrate having first and second sides, an array of LED micro-display panels, and an array of collimating reflectors. The LED micro-display panels are disposed within the transparent substrate between the first and second sides and oriented to emit sub-image portions of a display image towards the first side. The collimating reflectors are disposed within the transparent substrate between the first side and the array of LED micro-display panels. The collimating reflectors are aligned with the LED micro-display panels to reflect the sub-image portions back out the second side of the transparent substrate. The LED micro-display panels are offset from the collimating reflectors to expand the sub-image portions prior to reflection by the collimating reflectors.

An apparatus for providing adjustable transparency to an optical element of a head wearable display includes an electro-chromic film disposed across the optical element to adjust a transparency of the optical element to ambient light and a transparency controller coupled to control the electro-chromic film with a drive signal to decrease the transparency of the optical element as the brightness of the ambient light increases. The transparency controller includes a scaling circuit coupled to receive a power signal from a power source and coupled to output the driving signal to the electro-chromic film to control the transparency of the optical element. The scaling circuit scales the power signal to generate the driving signal. The transparency controller further includes a control circuit coupled to the scaling circuit to control the scaling applied by the scaling circuit.
