Methods and apparatus in a fifth-generation wireless communications, including an example method, in a wireless device, that includes receiving a downlink signal comprising an uplink access configuration index, using the uplink access configuration index to identify an uplink access configuration from among a predetermined plurality of uplink access configurations, and transmitting to the wireless communications network according to the identified uplink access configuration. The example method further includes, in the same wireless device, receiving, in a first subframe, a first Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiplexing (OFDM) transmission formatted according to a first numerology and receiving, in a second subframe, a second OFDM transmission formatted according to a second numerology, the second numerology differing from the first numerology. Variants of this method, corresponding apparatuses, and corresponding network-side methods and apparatuses are also disclosed.

Network architecture, methods, and devices for a wireless communications network

A method for differentiating multiple Physical Downlink Shared Channel (PDSCH) transmission schemes for transmission of data for an over-the-top (OTT) service. In a non-limiting example, the PDSCH transmission schemes include a spatial multiplexing transmission scheme, a frequency multiplexing transmission scheme, a slot-based time multiplexing transmission scheme, and a mini-slot-based time multiplexing transmission scheme. In examples discussed herein, a User Equipment (UE) can be configured to differentiate the PDSCH transmission schemes based on information indicated in Downlink Control Information (DCI) for scheduling a PDSCH transmission, information signaled to the UE via a higher layer configuration, and/or capability signaling indicated from the UE to a network. By differentiating the PDSCH transmission schemes, the UE can efficiently receive a data transmission(s) from multiple Transmission/Reception Points (TRPs) to obtain user data from the OTT service.

Method for differentiating multiple physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) transmission schemes

A network node signals to a wireless communication device which precoders in a codebook are restricted from being used. The network node in this regard generates codebook subset restriction signaling that, for each of one or more groups of precoders, jointly restricts the precoders in the group by restricting a certain component (e.g., a certain beam precoder) that the precoders in the group have in common. This signaling may be for instance rank-agnostic signaling that jointly restricts the precoders in a group without regard to the precoders' transmission rank. Regardless, the network node sends the generated signaling to the wireless communication device.

Codebook subset restriction signaling

Systems and methods for non-codebook based multiple transmission and reception point (TRP) Physical Uplink Shared Channel (PUSCH) transmission and reception are disclosed herein. In one embodiment, a method performed by a wireless communication device comprises receiving a configuration of first and second Sounding Reference Signal (SRS) resource sets to be used for non-codebook based PUSCH transmission. The method further comprises receiving a configuration of first and second Non-Zero Power (NZP) Channel State Information Reference Signals (CSI-RSs) associated with the first and SRS resource sets, respectively. The method further comprises receiving a request for transmitting data in PUSCH in a plurality of occasions, wherein the request comprises first and second SRS resource indicators (SRIs) associated with the first and second SRS resource sets, respectively. The method further comprises transmitting first and second PUSCHs in a first and second sets of occasions according to the first and second SRIs, respectively.

Non-codebook based multi-TRP PUSCH reliability with multiple associated NZP CSI-RSs

Methods and apparatus in a fifth-generation wireless communications network, including an example method, in a wireless device, that includes determining a reporting quality threshold for a parameter related to channel state information (CSI); performing a measurement for each of a plurality of beams from a first predetermined set of beams for evaluation; evaluating the measurement for each of the plurality of beams against the reporting quality threshold; discontinuing the performing and evaluating of measurements in response to determining that the reporting quality threshold is met for one of the beams, such that one or more beams in the first predetermined set of beams are not measured and evaluated; and reporting, to the wireless communications network, CSI for the one of the beams.

Embodiments include methods, performed by a user equipment (UE), for transmitting or receiving a plurality of physical data channels in a wireless network. Such methods include receiving, from the wireless network, an indication of a Transmission Configuration Indicator (TCI) state that includes one or more source reference signal (RS) pairs. Each source RS pair has a pair of quasi-colocation (QCL) relations with antenna ports, for demodulation reference signals (DM-RS), that are mapped to a plurality of code-division multiplexing (CDM) groups. Such methods include receiving/transmitting the physical data channels based on the QCL relations for the source RS pairs of the indicated TCI state. Each physical data channel corresponds to a CDM group and is received/transmitted in association with the DM-RS having antenna ports mapped to the corresponding CDM group. Other embodiments include complementary methods performed by a wireless network, and UEs and wireless networks configured to perform such methods.

Code-division multiplexing (CDM) groups for multi-source transmission

A method for differentiating multiple Physical Downlink Shared Channel (PDSCH) transmission schemes. In a non-limiting example, the PDSCH transmission schemes include a spatial multiplexing transmission scheme, a frequency multiplexing transmission scheme, a slot-based time multiplexing transmission scheme, and a mini-slot-based time multiplexing transmission scheme. Methods and apparatuses are disclosed for resource mapping. In one embodiment, a wireless device is provided. The wireless device includes processing circuitry () configured to: receive a plurality of physical downlink control channel, PDCCH, transmissions where the plurality of PDCCH transmissions includes a 5 plurality of downlink control information, DCI, messages scheduling a plurality of physical downlink shared channel, PDSCH, transmissions, and at least two of the plurality of PDSCH transmissions one of partially and fully overlap in a time domain; and perform PDSCH resource mapping for decoding the plurality of PDSCH transmissions based at least in part on the plurality of DCI messages.

Physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) resource mapping for multi-transmission point (TRP)

Embodiments include methods for operating a network node in a wireless network. Such embodiments include applying non-linear precoding to a first data stream to remove a representation of expected inter-stream interference due to a second data stream, thereby generating a corrected first data stream. Such embodiments also include applying linear precoding to the corrected first data stream and to a first reference signal (RS) stream to generate a first signal layer. The first RS stream is not corrected for the expected inter-stream interference prior to applying the linear precoding. Such embodiments also include transmitting the first signal layer to a user equipment (UE). Other embodiments include complementary methods performed by a UE, as well as network nodes and UEs configured to perform operations corresponding to such methods.

Methods for reference signal mapping in non-linear precoding MIMO transmission

Systems and methods for Channel State Information (CSI) feedback for multiple Transmission Points (TRPs) in a cellular communications network are disclosed. Embodiments of a method of operation of a wireless device and corresponding embodiments of a wireless device are disclosed. In some embodiments, a method performed by a wireless device for CSI feedback comprises receiving a configuration comprising N Non-Zero Power (NZP) CSI Reference Signal (CSI-RS) resources each associated with a different one of N TRPs or N sets of NZP CSI-RS resources each associated with a different one of the N TRPs. The method further comprises receiving a request for CSI feedback based on the configuration, selecting a preferred subset of the NZP CSI-RS resources comprised in the N NZP CSI-RS resources or the N sets of NZP CSI-RS resources, and reporting, to a base station, CSI based on the selected preferred subset of the NZP CSI-RS resources.

CSI feedback for data transmission over multiple transmission points

A network node determines parameters indicating a compression function for compressing downlink channel estimates, and a decompression function. The network node transmits the parameters, receives compressed downlink channel estimates, and decompresses the compressed downlink channel estimates using the decompression function. A terminal device receives the parameters, forms the compression function, compresses downlink channel estimates using the compression function, and transmits the compressed downlink channel estimates. The compression function comprises a first function formed based on at least some of the parameters, a second function which is non-linear, and a quantizer. The first function is configured to receive input data, and to reduce a dimension of the input data. The decompression function comprises a first function configured to receive input data and provide output data in a higher dimensional space than the input data, and a second function which is non-linear.

Compression and decompression of downlink channel estimates

A method performed by a base station of enabling a User Equipment (UE) to determine a precoder codebook in a wireless communication system is provided. The base station transmits, to the UE, information regarding precoder parameters enabling the UE to determine the precoder codebook. The precoder parameters are associated with a plurality of antenna ports of the base station. The precoder parameters relate to a first dimension and a second dimension of the precoder codebook. The plurality of antenna ports comprises a number of antenna ports that is a function of a number of antenna ports in the first dimension, and a number of antenna ports in the second dimension.
