An electronic smoking device () comprises a power supply/atomizer portion () and a replaceable liquid reservoir portion () which is coupleable with the power supply/atomizer portion (). The liquid reservoir portion comprises a liquid reservoir () storing a liquid and the power supply/atomizer portion comprises a power supply () and an atomizer () adapted to atomize the liquid stored in the liquid reservoir when operated by the power supply. The power supply/atomizer portion comprises a penetrating element () that is configured to penetrate the liquid reservoir when the power supply/atomizer portion is coupled with the liquid reservoir portion, and a wick (). The wick () is attached to the penetrating element and is configured so that a portion () of the wick entering the liquid reservoir when the power supply/atomizer portion is coupled with the liquid reservoir portion has a U-shape.

Electronic smoking device

An atomizer/liquid portion for an electronic smoking device () is described and electronic smoking devices. Of the atomizer/liquid reservoir portion () and the electronic smoking devices, each has a liquid reservoir () for storing a liquid, and an atomizer () comprising a capillary element () and a heating coil (). The capillary element () is configured to capillary draw the liquid from the liquid reservoir () towards the heating coil (). The capillary element () comprises different metal meshes () differing in capillarity. The different capillary actions result in an overall capillary action which is directed from the ends of the capillary element () towards a central portion of the capillary element ().

Cartridges for vaporizer devices are provided. In one exemplary embodiment, the cartridge can include a reservoir housing having a storage chamber and a dispensing chamber, and a vaporization chamber in communication with the dispensing chamber. The storage chamber is configured to hold a first fraction of a vaporizable material and the dispensing chamber is configured to hold a second fraction of the vaporizable material. The dispensing chamber is further configured to selectively dispense at least a first portion of the second fraction of the vaporizable material through at least one dispense opening in response to generation of one or more pressure pulses created within the dispensing chamber. A nicotine delivery system is disclosed. The nicotine delivery system comprises an actuating mechanism and a housing that has a longitudinal axis and defines a chamber that is configured to receive a plunger and has an outlet for the passage of formulation out of the chamber. The actuating mechanism comprises an actuator and an actuation member. The actuator cooperates with the actuation member such that when a plunger is received in the chamber the plunger and the chamber slide relative to each other in an axial direction by a predetermined incremental distance upon each operation of the actuator to displace a predetermined volume of formulation from the chamber through said outlet.

The portions () can be moved with respect to each other, by a movement and a respective counter movement, at least between an insertion configuration and a closed cavity configuration. In a closed cavity configuration, the cavity () is closed by the other portion and a liquid reservoir opening element () of said one or the other portion opens the housed liquid reservoir ().

An electronic smoking device () is provided that comprises a power supply/atomizer portion (), a replaceable liquid reservoir portion (), a liquid reservoir portion detection element () that is moveable between a first position and a second position, and an activation element () that is adapted to be operated by the liquid reservoir portion detection element when the latter is moved from the first position to the second position. The liquid reservoir portion comprises a cavity () and an engaging element () that partially blocks an opening of the cavity. The engaging element is adapted to engage with the liquid reservoir portion detection element during a process of coupling the portions () so that the liquid reservoir portion detection element is moved toward the second position, thereby operating the activation element.

A nasal delivery device for and method of delivering particulate substance to the nasal airway of a subject. The delivery device includes a body assembly including a mouthpiece unit which includes a mouthpiece through which the subject in use exhales, and a substance-supply unit which is fluidly connected to the mouthpiece unit and actuatable to provide particulate substance for delivery to the nasal airway of the subject. The body assembly is configured to receive a replaceable nosepiece unit which includes a nosepiece and contains a container containing particulate substance.

An inhalation device to hold an inhalant-generating component to generate an inhalant to be drawn through the device and inhaled by a user. The device has a body () having a first open end () configured to receive an inhalant-generating component and, a second open end () in fluid communication with the first end through which a user may draw inhalant from the inhalant-generating component. The body is configured to receive a flavour delivery component () having an organoleptic material to selectively allow or prevent addition of an organoleptic additive into an inhalant stream drawn through the device.
