Inductive charging module may be rigidly attached to at least one of the inverter housing, the electric motor housing, the reducing gear cover, and the inductive charging module may be configured to utilize electric components of the inverter, and/or the inductive charging module may be configured to be cooled by a liquid cooling circuit cooling the inverter and/or the electric motor and/or the reducing gear unit.

Systems and methods are described for thermal feedback for power transfer optimization. Aspects include a wireless power-transfer system including a base power-transfer apparatus, a power supply unit, at least one temperature sensor, and a system controller. The base power-transfer apparatus includes a coil configured to generate a magnetic field based on an electric current. The power supply unit includes switching and power electronics configured to drive the electric current in the coil. The temperature sensor(s) are configured to measure a temperature of the base power-transfer apparatus or the power supply unit. The system controller is coupled to the base power-transfer apparatus, the power supply unit, and the temperature sensor(s) and is configured to control operation of at least one of the base power-transfer apparatus or the power supply unit based on the measured temperature to shift losses and dissipate heat in the base power-transfer apparatus or the power supply unit.

Certain aspects of the present disclosure are generally directed to apparatus for attenuating unwanted frequencies using a feed line with integrated filtering. In certain aspects, a feed line for filtering unwanted frequencies in a wireless power transfer system is provided, the feed line including a first end, wherein the first end is configured to connect to a power source that generates a driving signal having a driving signal frequency, and a second end, wherein the second end is configured to connect to a wireless power transfer element configured to wirelessly transmit power. The feed line further includes a conductor core, wherein the conductor core is configured to transfer the driving signal from the power source to the wireless transfer element. The feed line further includes an integrated filter configured to attenuate at least one frequency generated by the wireless power transfer system.

Electrical feed line integrated filtering for inductive power transfer systems

A magnetic coil suitable for wireless power transfer comprises a layer of magnetically-permeable material and plural conductors that follow respective convoluted paths relative to the layer of magnetically-permeable material to form respective inductors. In use, the conductors have substantially equalized inductances based on the convoluted paths and interaction with the magnetically-permeable material. One way of achieving this is to place the conductors such that the overall proximity of the conductors to the layer of magnetically-permeable material along their respective lengths is substantially equal. In this way, the conductors are positioned substantially symmetrically with respect to the layer of magnetically-permeable material, such that an average distance of each individual section of the conductors proximate to the permeable layer is equal.

One aspect of the disclosure provides an apparatus for conveying wireless power. The apparatus comprises a circuit board disposed along one or more planar coils and a plurality of feeds. The circuit board is divided into a first area separate from a second area. The first area has a plurality of first voltage components and the second area has a plurality of second voltage components. The first voltage components operates at a lower voltage than the second voltage components. The plurality of feeds are coupled to the one or more planar coils and the circuit board. The plurality of feeds pass through the circuit board within the second area along a side of the circuit board and couple to one or more of the second voltage components.

System and method for reducing interference in a wireless power transfer system

Systems and methods for wireless power transmission are described herein. In one aspect, a charging pad to transfer power wirelessly comprises a power antenna assembly configured to receive wireless power. The power antenna assembly is configured to charge the battery based on the received wireless power. The charging pad further comprises a ferrite layer assembly. The charging pad further a shielding layer defining a shape configured to receive a part of the host device and/or conform to a shape of a host device. The shielding layer can define a notch or can define a concave shape.

Pickup coil design for tight spaces and asymmetrical coupling

Systems and methods for a twisted rectangular litz wire for generating or receiving wireless electrical power. The rectangular litz wire may be arranged as a DD coil having first and second co-planar loops. The loops may have a shared single-stacked inner portion and double-stacked outer portions. The litz wire may be twisted between the inner and outer portions, such that a width of the coils at the outer portions is defined by a first longer side of the wires, and a width of the coils at the inner portion is defined by a second shorter side of the wires. This arrangement may reduce a size of the DD coil may reducing a width of the shared inner portion.

The apparatus comprises a first surface having one or more grooves configured to receive at least a portion of a conductor of a coil that spans the holder and at least one other holder, the coil configured to inductively transfer power via a magnetic field. The apparatus comprises one or more mechanical connectors configured to fasten the holder to the at least one other holder. The apparatus further comprises a plurality of transverse grooves on the first surface that extend in a direction substantially perpendicular to a direction of extension of the one or more grooves, the plurality of transverse grooves configured to guide the conductor of the coil from the holder to the at least one other holder.

Invention described herein relates to wireless power transfer systems and methods that efficiently and safely transfer power to electronic devices. In an aspect of the invention, an apparatus for wirelessly receiving power is provided. The apparatus comprises a receiver circuit comprising a receiver coil configured to receive wireless power from a wireless power transmitter via a magnetic field sufficient to charge or power a load of the apparatus. The receiver circuit further comprises a ferrite material having a first side coupled to the receiver coil. The apparatus further comprises a first heat exchanger coupled to a second side of the ferrite material.
