A pressure vessel, in particular a cryogenic pressure vessel, has an inner vessel, an outer vessel and a chamber that can be evacuated at least partly. A motor vehicle includes such a pressure vessel.

A thermally activatable safety valve for a pressure vessel includes i) a pressure relief unit having a valve for pressure relief of the pressure vessel; ii) at least one release line which extends away from the pressure relief unit; and iii) at least one bursting device. The release line, the bursting device and the valve are fluidically connected and form a common fluid system. The valve is designed, for pressure relief, to pass from a first closed position into a second open position if the pressure in the fluid system is less than an actuating limit pressure. The bursting device is designed to bring about pressure relief in the fluid system if the pressure in the fluid system exceeds a release pressure.

A method for adjusting temperature and/or pressure of fuel in a pressured container system of a vehicle to a respective temperature setpoint and/or a respective pressure setpoint before a process of filling the pressurized containers includes extracting fuel from a first pressurized container having a first temperature and a first pressure, to bring the first temperature and/or the first pressure of the fuel closer to the temperature setpoint and/or to the pressure setpoint of the first pressurized container. The method also includes supplying the extracted fuel to either a fuel conversion device to power the vehicle or into a second pressurized container, where fuel in the second pressurized container has a second temperature and a second pressure, to bring the second temperature and/or the second pressure of the fuel closer to the temperature setpoint and/or to the pressure setpoint of the second pressurized container. The temperature setpoints and/or the pressure setpoints are determined such that, without exceeding the respective maximum operating pressure and the respective maximum operating temperature of the respective pressurized container, the amount of fuel introduced from a single filling source by a process of filling the pressurized containers which is carried out at the same time and for the same length of time is maximized.

A safety valve for a pressure vessel has a discharge line which extends away from a pressure relief unit. A substance fills an internal volume of the discharge line. At least one insulation element which is configured for at least reducing the thermal transmission in the discharge line in the axial direction of the discharge line is provided in the discharge line.

A cryogenic pressure container for a motor vehicle has an inner container and an outer container. An evacuated space is arranged between the inner container and the outer container at least in some regions. The inner container has a synthetic material layer. A barrier layer is arranged at least in some regions between the synthetic material layer and the evacuated space. The barrier layer is designed and arranged so as to at least reduce the transfer of constituents leaking out of the synthetic material layer into the evacuated space, wherein a gap is formed at least in some regions between the barrier layer and the synthetic material layer.

Cryogenic pressure container

A monitoring apparatus is provided for a pressure tank, in particular in a motor vehicle. The monitoring apparatus is designed to determine current operating parameters of the pressure tank and, on the basis of the operating parameters, to calculate and preferably to display a maximum possible filling level for the pressure tank under the current operating parameters.
