A method and processor system are provided which analyze a depth map, which may be obtained from a range sensor capturing depth information of a scene, to identify where an object is located in the scene. Accordingly, a region of interest may be identified in the scene which includes the object, and image data may be selectively obtained of the region of interest, rather than of the entire scene containing the object. This image data may be acquired by an image sensor configured for capturing visible light information of the scene. By only selectively obtaining the image data within the region of interest, rather than all of the image data, improvements may be realized in the computational complexity of a possible further processing of the image data, the storage of the image data and/or the transmission of the image data.

A method of determining a group of user devices suitable for contributing user content to an interactive media broadcast may comprise: &#x2014;transmitting a set of requirements to a first plurality of user devices (), each user device having a set of capabilities, the set of requirements relating to using at least part of the user content in the interactive media broadcast, &#x2014;transmitting an invitation to a second plurality of user devices (), the invitation being configured to cause a user device to produce a conditional response if the set of capabilities of the user device matches the set of requirements, and &#x2014;identifying a group of user devices from which a conditional response was received. The method may further comprise selecting a group of user devices from the identified user devices. The selected group of user devices may include all identified user devices. The media broadcast may include an interactive television broadcast.

Stream control methods and devices are provided for use in a network () for transferring a video stream from a video server () to a video client () via a distribution chain of network resources (). A streaming controller () controls streaming settings at the client node. A bridge () controls the video stream by obtaining a bandwidth requirement of the video stream, and network resource data including bandwidths available on network resources. The bridge determines a resource allocation including an allocated bandwidth, based on the network resource data and the bandwidth requirement so that the video stream complies with the network resource data. The allocated bandwidth enables the streaming controller to control, in accordance with the allocated bandwidth, the streaming settings for the client. A network controller () receives network control data from the bridge to control, in accordance with the allocated bandwidth, the respective distribution chain associated to the respective video stream.

A method for processing spherical video data is described comprising: receiving region of interest (ROI) information associated with a ROI in a spherical representation of video data, the ROI information including a spherical ROI coordinate associated with a position of the ROI; receiving a manifest file comprising one or more tile stream identifiers for identifying one or more tile streams, each tile stream comprising spherical video data of a tile on the spherical surface, each tile defining a subpart on the spherical surface, the manifest file further comprising spatial description information for signaling the client apparatus information on the position of the tiles on the spherical surface; receiving projection information for signaling the client apparatus about the type of projection that is used for projection of the spherical video data onto a planar surface; and, receiving and/or generating boundary information for defining the boundary of the ROI on the basis of the spherical ROI coordinate, and, using the ROI area for selecting one or more tile streams on the basis of the spatial description information and the projection information, wherein each of the selected tile streams defines a tile on the sphere that overlaps with the ROI area.
