A method for activating at least one communication interface of a residential gateway of a local communication network to which a main item of equipment configured for connecting to the at least one communication interface of the residential gateway is connected is disclosed. This method is implemented by at least one secondary item of equipment configured for communicating with the at least one main item of equipment via a first wireless communication channel, and with the residential gateway via a second wireless communication channel associated with at least one other communication interface of the residential gateway. This method includes transmitting to the at least one main item of equipment, over the first wireless communication channel, of a message controlling the at least one main item of equipment, and transmitting to the residential gateway, over the second wireless communication channel, of a request to activate the at least one communication interface.

A method is described for remotely managing a piece of network connection equipment in order to deploy a firmware. The method includes generating connection data of the equipment to the network over a predetermined period of time, determining, on a remote management server, a time slot, specific to the equipment, for downloading the firmware depending on these the generated connection data, transmitting, to the equipment, information relating to the time slot specific to this equipment and to an address of a download server, sending, from the equipment, a request for downloading the firmware to the download server, sending, from the download server, firmware download data to the equipment, and downloading the firmware during the time slot specific to the equipment.

Method for managing equipment in order to update a firmware

A method is provided for conditional implementation of a service on an object connected to a local area network. The implementation of the service is associated on the object with at least one location datum. The method includes the following acts performed on the object: receiving a request to implement the service from a first terminal, the request including at least the identifier of the service and the identifier of the terminal; receiving a message including at least one location datum of the first terminal; comparing the location datum of the first terminal with the location datum associated with the implementation of the service; and, as a function of the results of the comparison, implementing the service on the object.

Conditional implementation of a service

A technique for controlling access to a radio access network administered by an access device. The device obtains an item of data indicating that the presence of a user has been detected in a detection zone. An access request requesting access to the radio access network is received from an applicant device, the radio access network being prohibited by the access device for a device with physical address corresponding to that of the applicant device. The applicant device, identified by the address, is then authorized by the access device to access the radio access network.

Technique for controlling access to a radio access network

A hardware component, a method for a remote terminal to access a local network, a corresponding service gateway, access authorization method and computer program are provided. The hardware component is configured to allow a remote terminal to access a local area communication network. The local area communication network is connected to a wide area communication network via a service gateway, referred to as source gateway. The hardware component includes at least one memory unit including an area for non-volatile storage of at least one identifier for accessing the source gateway, and is configured to connect to the wide area communication network and to the terminal, and to request opening of a secure communication tunnel with the source gateway, from the at least one identifier for accessing the source gateway.

A method for managing alerts relating to the detection of a local phenomenon in a communications network. The communications network includes at least one first residential gateway capable of transmitting alert messages in the network. The local phenomenon is likely to degrade the hardware and/or software resources of the residential gateway. The method includes: detection, by the first residential gateway, of a degradation linked to the local phenomenon; transmission of an alert message in the network by the first residential home gateway, in order for at least one second residential gateway able to receive the alert message, adjacent to the first residential gateway in the wide area network, to respond to the local phenomenon.

A technique for assisting remote diagnosis of an access gateway by an administration apparatus. The gateway enables access to a wide area communication network via an access network. A failure affecting access to the wide area communications network gateway via the access network is detected. A device obtains an identifier of the access gateway and a datum assisting diagnosis of the failure by using a radio communication channel and sends the identifier and the datum obtained to the administration apparatus via an access means in an operational state.

Technique for assisting remote diagnosis of an access gateway

A method is provided for controlling equipment provided with a function for controlling a bidirectional radio link in reception and in transmission. The equipment is configured for connecting with at least one terminal of a home network via said radio link. The method includes: inhibiting the radio link in transmission; listening to the radio link in reception; detecting a wakeup identifier on the radio link; verifying the validity of the terminal that sent the wakeup identifier; and as a function of the value of this identifier and of the validity of the terminal that sent it, activating the radio link in transmission. Also provided is equipment having a function for controlling a radio link.
